I doubt if leaving your coils in the vodka will have any effect on the wicking material.

Hell, I've been soaking my liver in vodka for years with no ill effect apart from the odd pink elephant appearing out of the walls now and again.

unfort. i have to report that my BVC coil gave up life just now, so i gotta report the same
this one was good for 10 days as well, + i was vaping it same time with 5 other attys, guessing if i had used only this tank it might not have lasted that long

Here's an update for prolonging the life of the BVC coils or all coils for that matter.

After vaping the N-mini and Delta for 7 days (they were still producing good flavor btw) I took them out and replaced them with new coils.

I soaked the used coils in Vodka for 24 hours and then gave them a hot water rinse (with no dry burn) and let them air dry for 6 days. Switched these coils back into the N-mini and Delta and surprise, surprise! There was no bad taste at all.

I did do the recommended coil break-in though. Started at 8 watts for 4 puffs, the same for 10 watts and then 12 watts. Worth a try and who knows . . . . maybe doing this 7 day rotation might have your coils last a couple of months this way.

I have a regular size tank with BVC coils and go through about 8 ml of juice a day. They have lasted me about 6-7 days before the taste starts to fall off and the air flow gets restricted.

When you guys are cleaning with vodka are you guys pulling out the screen on top for the rinsing?

If you are going to all that trouble to try and extend the life of something that is specifically made to be replaced wouldn't it just make more sense to buy a kayfun or orchid or erlkonigan? Aside from the fact that you will still get great flavor and better vapor it will cost you much less in the long run and building a single coil to your own exacting specifications is really easy. Instead of replacing an atomizer every week or so you are just changing out cotton or whatever media you find works best.

Here's a snapshot of the coil life I'm getting on my Nauts and Mini-N's. The Nauts with Baja Breeze, New Minister 23 and Southern Shine get used daily...average is probably 2-3 mls per day. I don't do anything special in the way of coil maintenance other than to blow the moisture out through each of the 4 air holes on the tank bottom during each refill and blot the inside of the coil with a tissue afterwards. Takes about 5 minutes to clean and refill a tank...

I do the same with my BVCs as I did my BDCs, I have a shot glass that sits on my Frig next to my Hot water urn. Whenever I heat water to make coffee, or milk for my son I just dump the water out that's in the glass and re-add some more hot. I do that for a few days, then just dry them out. So far, works fine.

I'm doing on average about 10 days on my ADV coils (right now that's MBV 555, about 2ml per day), and twice that for my extra pipe (it's currrently holding Macks Butter Toffee).

    Hope that helps.
