the nemesis should have an adjustable center pin. if you unscrew the pin a bit you should be able to flush mount.

Nice, neat coil you got there.

I did my first kayfun coil a few days back also, and used the same RT video for guidance. I used the chimney coil from the second half of the video. Compared to my trident, I also found the kayfun coil to be a bit of a "fiddly" build - mostly because of the vertical orientation though. Whenever I'd lift the coil up off the posts, it would go off centre. After realigning it, it would drop too low onto the post again or go a bit askew. Took a bit of fiddling for sure. Nice vape though. I tend to take RT's comments with a grain of salt, but in this case he was right about getting a few more nuances/notes of the flavour with chimney coil. I'm using Cinnamon Roll, and found the "cinnamon" flavour stronger in the kayfun, while the "roll" flavour was more pronounced in my dripper.

Unfortunately not the center pin. I had that completely out and also the airflow control ring removed from the top cap trying to eyeball what what wrong.

I still find it strange. I got another tank with 510 connection and put the other tank and the Kayfun pointing away from each other and the threads meshed into one another and run them around in circles. Nothing odd to be felt.

Just for my own curiosity I would like to know why the 2 wont play nice with each other but best solution is I'm buying one of those flush mounting nemi - kayfun adaptors from VM. Will look nicer as well. :very good:

Take some super light sandpaper or a file and take down the edges just a hair from the Kayfun's 510 threads. Put some Vaseline or something on the threads and just keep working it until it goes. Dollars to donuts its just threads that are a bit too long.

BW, just a thought and probably you already know, but the top cap on the Nemesis unscrews from the body, you will see the silver pin on the underside of it, this unscrews so give adjustment for different atties, I am guessing you know this...??
If not unscrew it out, put on the KayFun to see if it will now screw in the 510 connection, if so then re screw up the silver pin contact until it is tight..

I had a bad KayFun/coil/wick problem all day today.
Last night I changed my cotton, the same as I have been doing for weeks.
Hit well last night and all was good

Then this morning it started giving bad hits, real dry, burnt hits..

I thought maybe I added too much cotton, so ripped it out and did it again....still no good.
Then I thought fook it, I have 100 M of new wire I'll do a new build, made my micro coil, came out at 1.6 ohms, got it tight and glowing well.
Did my cotton, and put it all together and vaped it, and still the same dry burnt taste..

Took it apart again, the cotton was nice and wet, the coil looked fine WTF!!!!

So I moved around the coil with the toothpick, making sure it was sitting nicely, then new cotton again...

So far it's not bad...got to go and have a vape now see if it's still ok...

Strange how the old coil had been fine for weeks and was still fine but after the last cotton change it all went wrong..

Been a bad vaping day, got my last few drops of juice left, thank god Pipcon sent me out 2 bottles of NM 23 today..

Any pics of your build VM?

Dry hits when you said the cotton wick was wet. That's above my pay grade only being one day into it. Maybe an oring didn't seal properly during that and it stopped the vacuum and wicking?

My first Kayfun build. Been vaping well. If any experienced vapers spot any red flags or areas of improvement, I'm all ears.

28 gauge kanthal. 10 wraps. Calculator puts it at about 1.5 - 1.6 ohms.

That's a nice tightly grouped coil. Any tips?

Well centered! I wanted to make mine a bit better but ended up with what I got not wanting to tweak it too much.

No tips really. Just the regular ones: get the coils tight during the wrapping process, and use tweezers after firing to squeeze them together.

With the vertical coil, you can use a toothpick to position it in the center while attaching and tweaking it.

I had a feeling I'd be disappointed by this one, but I figured I would go ahead and see if it was worth the hype. It isn't. Dual stovetops on the Trident with 24AWG, ohm'd out at .28, exactly the same ohms as the build I pulled out of it (dual microcoil, 24 AWG). Lots of vapor but much less flavor. You absolutely have to murder the thing with cotton, as if there are any parts of the coil not touching the cotton the coil will light up like a Christmas tree. Anyway, this will be getting ripped out soon enough for another delicious Clapton coil.

In fact, I just stopped and ripped it out so I wouldn't get lazy and leave it in there.

I found the stovetop I did different to you Ryan (and different to the riptrippers vid). Actually had plenty of flavor but less vapor. Was with 28AG though so maybe thats why. Agree that it isn't really worth it.

This week has been simple coils. A dual coil .45mm (?AG) on the Trident at 0.3 is very very nice. Quite a lot better flavor-wise than I expected. First time I had used anything thicker than 28AG.

I need some free time so I can get busy with the new Kanthal supplies :vaping::vaping::vaping::vaping::vaping:

i recently tortured myself and listening to some of Pangas Podcast @ Sentient Vape :very good:
and in one of them, some of the bros was spoken so highly of the Trident, i have one since quite some time,
but never put it to use, cause from the whole setup it didnt look to impressive for me with the rather flat base and the monster O-Rings

however i never really put the Trident on test, and cause my preffered RDA the V12 was heavily cloaked fom my Own Juice Experiments i couldnt use it, hence i fired up the Trident and scratched my head even more, cause compared to the V12 the Trident sucks balls.

So i had another coiling day today

.... next job on the to do list was doing my Taifun GT (B Style)
    IMG_6485[1].JPG
i went for ESS Mesh, with a 0.32 Kanthal A1 running on 1.8 Ohm

    IMG_6486[1].JPG
i always put some wick on top of the coil, i believe i seen it a Phil or somewhere to make the cap tighter

Here it is finished, on a Turtle Ship V2 Mech Mod, with my new Bullet Drip Tip, dont know why but taste wise all sorts of copper drip tips i totally like.
