Fair enough. At least he still gets excited enough about coils to make his videos.

Felt bad for the hate so I decided to make one of his coils.

Good flavor and lots of vapor for a single coil at .48 ohms. I might just have to double it up for some real action.

 

Well, the gears started turning and I figured with 1 coil that good, 4 would be four times as good. So I ripped out that single coil and made what I think is called quad Kissing Dragons, or dual Kissing Dragons, something like that. Anyway, its 4 11/10 28AWG nano coils on a 1/32 drill bit, set diagonally pointing at each other. Comes out to .26 ohms, 58 watts on a fresh battery. I figured it would be good since my Trident only has 2 airholes. Real simple to build actually, just takes a bit of time. Flavor is crazy, I might as well just be drinking the juice at this point. There is so much vapor my wife is getting really pissed off that she can't see when she walks in the room. Pretty warm vape, popping juice keeps burning the roof of my mouth. I may have to change drip tips.

Also, I kind of screwed up. I flipped two of the coils, but it really doesn't affect anything.

An authentic Hana mod. I believe he has several of them, that's all I've seen him using for ages, in different colors.

 

and Hana Mods are not DNA20 clones?

@ryanmacl that build is definitely going on my list of builds-to-try when I get some good battery power going.

Hopefully that Hana clone actually arrives and is actually decent.

 

I feel quite the opposite...everything I've heard about the SX line is that it won't meet their own set specifications, as in it won't fire at the .5 ohms that it is rated at. Why not just change the specs to meet what you can actually produce?

Also, I disagree that he is an obviously intelligent man acting like a moron. I think he is more of a vaping idiot savant. Even that may be affording him too much credit. He copies what other people come up with and makes videos. His techniques are pretty bad too, and why did I watch him explain yesterday for about 3 minutes why he wasn't going to show how to build a microcoil on that video, then go ahead and show the building of the microcoil.

Rant over, still thankful we have him.

 

He does act like a full on stick puller but quite helpful to newbies as he tends to repeat himself a few times before doing anything lol.

I could probably pick personal faults with all the major vape guys on YouTube but watching or not only takes a mouse click.

OK, you guys have to talk to me about how to do dual coils. The dual coils I set up melted the insulators on the Kayfun clone. When I went to my vape shop I was informed NOT to do dual coils on a kayfun. My question (and this is on Kayfuns and other attys I want to dual coil) is what am I supposed to do with the one positive post, with two wires. From what I understand, I am not supposed to have the two kanthal wires from the positive touch each other.

 

If your doing paralell coils which most do then the positives will be tied together on one post and the negatives together on the other post. Thats for a 2 post RBA, RDA. With a triple post unit you have 2 negative posts so only the positives go to the same post. The picture above from Darth Vaper is a serial which is a single wire so 2 coils on the same wire and only 2 ends. If your doing paralel coils then check the amp your going to pull and start high if you think your insulators are not up to it.

You can always get genuine Kayfun insulators to replace the one you have burnt out.

This should have read start with high Ohms Low Amps V/R for your Amps and V*V/R for your power.

 

I wouldn't try pushing a Kayfun too far, for exactly the issue you've found. Most people seem to say keep them above .8 ohms, and honestly I haven't found any better setup on a Kayfun than a simple single microcoil with cotton. I do have some Clapton coil that I'll try out on one of my Kayfuns, that might be better.
