I noticed that on the Veritas pics on fast tech. Those juice wells looked shallow compared to the clone I got from big.

Yeah it seems the big guys are finally on the Veritas train. Took them long enough. I saw those clips and thought grimms was a bit half-assed. And while it was cool to see Rip take that single horizontal approach, I hate how he used soooo much cotton. He can only drip 10 drops because of all the cotton. There goes one of the best features of the atty. I prefer to wick it similar to a magma - with a simple wick that drops into each well - it gives a great vape and it holds about 20-30 drops.

Oil . . . just order one from Big. The one he sells is a clone 1:1 jing jing!

Thanks Smitty but all I did was copy what Faceless did.

The 1.5 ohm single coil was okay but I found my Kayfuns and Delta gave better performance and I just expected more out of the Veritas. Going sub-ohm with dual coils really made a big difference in flavor and especially in vapor production.

You know once you get the wire properly secure onto the positive post it really is less than a 5 minute build. You gotta give it a shot mate!

I've been using my Veritas with just a single 1.5 ohm coil up to now and wasn't very impressed. It performed about the same as my APO but with less flavor. Then I saw PattsVaper's dual coil build and I was inspired:
    Veritas1.jpg
    Veritas2.jpg
Dual macro coils of 3 mm inner diameter. I reckoned: larger coil = bigger surface area = better vapor with better flavor. I was aiming at 1 ohm but this came to 0.9 ohm. Close enough. I built two separate coils and yes, they were a bitch to attach to the posts. I wicked it with a single piece of cotton making sure the airway was clear with the ends just hanging into those nice deep wells.

The vape is cool (as in not hot) and the flavor is way better than before. But it was not an easy build. Maybe next time I try it the PattsVapor way.

It looks like a good build and happy to hear you're enjoying the double coil much more than the single coil. It's not my way though 'coz I just followed what Faceless showed in his instruction video.
Btw I love your build station. :vaping:

Frack, those are some gnarly looking coils. I find a 1.5 ohm single horizontal (28 AWG 9 wraps) works great on the Hana clone between 15 - 20 watts. Great flavour. On my 4nine mech, I like the Veritas with a single horizontal 0.7 ohm coil (26 AWG 7/6 wraps). Better flavour than the 1.5 ohm on the Hana.

I was also inspired by PattsV's duals and did a few similar dual coil faceless builds, but I find the cotton often gets a bit burnt above vertical coils, so I'm sticking with the horizontal Veritas builds for now. They perform great and haven't done me wrong yet.

Nice to see your build though. And yeah you gotta try the "faceless" build method. It's surprisingly quick and easy to do. Should be a link somewhere above I think.

I tried a few different Veritas builds over the last few days.

First up was the faceless method - dual vertical sleeper coils. I think it was 30AWG at 0.7ohms. For some reason, this type of build seems to work better for me on a mech. On the hana clone, the cotton tends to darken/burn above the coil. The coil part is quick and easy, but getting the cotton through can be a pita. The vape was pretty good, but the airflow suffers a bit because the coils/cotton seem to create quite a wall in front of the airhole. I also find this build to be quite hot.

Then I tried my first parallel coil build. Came out at 0.6 ohms. Used 28AWG. The upper leg got a bit separated somewhere along the way, but it didn't seem to have any negative effects. Vape was really good on a cranked up hana clone. On the mech it was decent, but was a little bit slow to heat. This build made my Veritas crazy hot. Could not even touch the atty sometimes. I actually started taking the top off sometimes to check the juice level, and had to wait for it to cool down first because it was practically burning my hand.

    Here's the wick:

I debated keeping this coil for a few days, but after just half a day I pulled it out because I didn't like how hot it made the atty. So, I made my standard Veritas build. 26AWG 0.7 ohms simple horizontal micro.

This build is easily the best vape of the bunch. Plenty of room around the coil for airflow. Atty gets hot, but it's more manageable than the first two builds. After building this way a bunch of times, I can now do it really quickly now also. So I'm sticking with this build for now.

As for flavour and vapor, the last build has the best flavour, and a little less vapor (very little).
