1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

Cochrane Review Update Shows Vaping Still Safer Than Smoking - ChurnMag

The 2016 Cochrane Review on vaping is out and the results will make the industry happy.

The review, which was released just today, has shown that there has been no difference in the way that vaping is viewed by the medical community. In fact, the review states the same conclusion that it stated when it was first released in 2014: that vaping is a safer alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes.

Eureka Alert has reported that the updated Cochrane Review on vaping, which is done on an annual basis, showed no significant changes to how vaping should be viewed. The review states that vaping may still help smokers quit and that new studies support this perspective.

The Cochrane Review was created to give an annual update on vaping and its health effects on the public. It takes into account studies and surveys conducted around the world. The review board takes looks over new and existing studies to create a short summary on the subject at hand, in this case vaping, that is easy to read by everyone from politicians and health care leaders to doctors and patients.

The review did not mention any new long-term randomized controlled trials, known in the medical community as RCTs, although it’s estimated that around 25 studies are currently underway. The conclusions of these trials, which are not expected for several years, are anticipated to come to the same conclusion as the review. The Cochrane review board, however, has chosen not to comment on any study that was not completed and published at the time the review was released.

There were 11 new studies taken into account during the review. Many of them focused on the effects of vaping on the user, and none showed no significant side effects for users who vape for two years. The only side effects that were mentioned were mouth and throat irritation, both of which had been reported in several short-term studies.

The main takeaway from the review was that while vaping is a safe alternative to smoking, it is not yet known how effective it is as a smoking cessation method when compared to nicotine patches or gum. This is due to the fact that very few studies have focused on this particular area of interest. Because Cochrane is an independent and therefore objective participant in medical studies, this was included in its conclusion.

Cochrane was founded in 1993 and is an international nonprofit organization that organizes and distributes medical information for everyone, including patients, using non-biased and objective information. By using independent research done by more than 37,000 volunteers across 130 countries, the group has established itself as a leader in medical studies and reviews.

Vapers who are looking for more information on the studies included in the review can visit the group’s website to learn more. We will continue to keep our readers updated on any new studies as the information becomes available.
