E-cigarette vaping shop goes up in smoke

    The shop went up in smoke over the weekend (Picture: Twitter/@_Sevak_)
    An e-cigarette shop selling vaping products has gone up in smoke.

    Around 30 firefighters were called to the Ifymax store in Dagenham on Sunday.

    Emergency services arrived on the scene at around 11.45am.

    A sign on the outside of the shop reads: ‘Stop smoking today.’

    The blaze completely gutted the store.

    Passersby took pictures of the blackened aftermath.

    There are no reports of injury.

    Venting batteries or cheap Chinese eGo batteries.
    Wonder if the insurance will cover it...
    Another nail in the UK e cig laws though..

    Oh,crap, why oh why can't some Vapers be more careful-- it's not just THEIR livelihoods that they are carelessly ruining.

    Come on guys...fires happen all the time. This just happens to be a vape shop, which is the media's soup du jour at present. Until the actual cause of the blaze is known, speculation is a waste of energy.

    Well, yes and no, it's now compulsory to fit smoke detectors In all houses and premises in UK, do this sounds like carelessness.

    I'm afraid that this is probably bound to happen- that's why, in my opinion, if we all want to be able to continue to use or ECigs we all need to try to be really careful not to give them ammo. They'll still going it, but just don't make it easy for them, by doing fairly dumb things and having, possibly, easily avoidable accidents.
    Like most of us, I'm fairly pessimistic about the future for Vapers, in many countries at the moment.

    There has been no mention of the course for the fire, and as long as that is not clear, I'm not gessing. It might just have nothing to do with the fact, that is is a vaper shop. It could even happen if it was a hairdresser shop. Until i know the reason for the fire, i just don't comment ....ups I just did :)
