But it was a mechanical mod and im pretty sure it was user error !

This is just depressing as to what this delivers to those the anti-vaping side of things.

Yeah, looks a bit like a Nemesis,or similar, Atlantis tank for sure.

Bad for everyone. From looking at the pieces, I'm thinking "use error". The translation will be "look at how horrible these things are, the government should ban them."

 

I would almost guarantee its user error, but without the facts....... it's fairly likely to be Sub-Ohm vaping with an unregulated Mechanical Mod, but unless the vendor made the guy aware of the dangers, one wonders whose really to blame. Sorry for the guy, regardless, but for sure.. It's Ammunition for the Anti Vape Lobby.

Note that this poor guy was using a 49 mod. I'm very careful with "hybrid" mods, (funny name, of what two things are they hybrid?) such as the 49, smpl and lpg--make sure the 510 center pin is a mm above the threaded part. Some are adjustable, but ones like Kayfuns that are not can be modified by disassembling and and adding a washer (I use o-rings) below the lower insulstor and re-inserting the center pin. Even if it's an adjustalbe 510, check that it hasn't unadjusted itself when screwing into the mod.

Sorry if I pontificate, but a hard short is a bummer.

 

You mean the 510 needs to stick out from a mm of the threaded part of the atty ?

 

1 person having accident when vape everybody (non vaper) panic and said vaping is very dangerous.
but more than 100 person burn his house / forest accidently nobody said tobaco must be ban...

 

Yes, the center pin should be longer than the threaded sleeve, so the battery's positive point touches only the center pin of the atty. If the threaded outside part is just as long as the center pin, bingo, hard short.
