Is it really that easy to ruin the istick?

I am not very good at making coils, but I was not aware that it was any substantial risk of ruining it that easily. Sorry about your loss, I really wish I knew more about this because that could have/will happen easily with me and my terrible coil making and installing skills.

So you got it going again?

According to the manual, there's atomizer short-circuit protection...

Here's the manual for those that like to read those things...lol

I just got so worried that I was one crap coil away from ruining one of my mods, glad you got it worked out :)

What would we do without a forum with people who actually know how to use these things :rolling laugh:
    **Updated**
Actually to make you feel better I accidentally switched my istick from W to V, and I never do that so I had to go look up how to change it back haha.

I'm guessing it was the PBusardo video you got that from. Had actually forgotten about that restore technique until you mentioned it :very good:

Got a couple of iStick 50's from Mr Big for myself and a mate last friday.

Mate calls me last nite and says when you hits the fire button (just a short click) , the iStick is firing for 10secs ?

anyone else had this prob and/or know how to fix it ?

There have been reports of dodgy fire buttons, also reports of it settling in over time.
Haven't heard of this issue though, sounds like it's getting stuck and firing until it shuts down.
He could try repeatedly pressing it to see if the issue goes away or Try removing the two screws at the top, pulling the inside out a bit to see if the tactile button inside gets stuck when pressed.

If he doesn't want to do the later a return would be in order.

@haybilly had an issue with his fire button which I think gradually got worse?

The istick 50 has a 10 second firing protection meaning, it can't be fired for longer. Sounds like when he's pressing the button it's sticking on and the protection kicks in. All I can think of is to switch it off and keep clicking the fire as it's obviously sticking, might loosen it up a bit?
