Things my end, just a heads up to all....

I just wanted to run though a few things with all the members here on Thailand Vapers.

Firstly this last month I have been really busy work wise, so not had a lot of time to be around on the front end of the Forum.
I have a few reviews I need to get up which will also be GiveAways, but time had been busy my end and not done them yet.

Also I have been playing around with some new software for the Forum.
This has also taken up a lot of time, but i am hoping i am ready as ready can be to do what I am wanting to do.

Which is port over this software the site runs on now to a new software for Thailand Vapers.
For the most part the software this Forum runs with works fine, however there are many reasons my end that I feel it's time to change this software.
It's a lot of back end stuff, things which will hopefully keep things running smooth in the backend and the front end and maybe speed up the software on which this Forum runs on.

The new software platform is different and will take bit of getting used to, but I'm sure everyone will like it after time.
I have tried as hard as I can to match how things work from software to software, but there will be differences in feel and look.

One main thing is I haven't been able to match the 'Home' page we have here, the main Home page which lands on the URl 'thailandvapers.com'
I tried a few things but I just didn't get on with them.
So the main page being landed on from the URL will be straight into the 'Forum' home page, but I feel that is the good starting point anyway for the site.

When will this change happen?
No real set date, I have tested and tested over the last month, I have done a few test imports of this site to the new software and feel confident the 'real' on will be fine, but you never know...

How long will the site be down for?
Again no real idea, after doing the testing over the last few weeks I have things ready in my head, fingers and also have it ready for the import.
At a guess, if everything goes as smooth as my testing the site would be down for maybe 3 hours but once opened it might be another day or so with fixing anything I missed.

If it went tits up, then I could just re open this software back up as i won't actually be touching this site, just importing things, so nothing will be effected here.

To be truthful, I could do it now, but I want to be as free as I can that day I do it.

So finally, when you see this site 'off line' you know why.

All I ask from all of you is to report back of problems so I can quickly fix them.
Maybe I will miss permissions problems so members aren't able to do something, so just let me know.

Oh yes, the smiles, this is another thing I have to do which i've not yet done, move all the smiles we have over, that is a one by one thing and will take time.

It was many years ago, but not anymore....
I've been involved in the software and vB games for a long long time, I even did some coding of mods many years ago, but vB had slowly killed itself..

Many reasons, a lot of them personal stuff, and that I can't upgrade this current software as it would break many 3rd party things and also the development of this version is dead, and the new vB stuff is a total mess..
Also many upon many of the really good vB 3rd party developers have left vB and also the way vB is going is only down hill imho..
