1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

Highest tax on stinkies in the region...no duty free allowance either. Hope they're feeling the pinch like all other governments. HSA quotes are just so stupid...must have their heads in the sand...or up some other dark, moist place. :p
    Half-wits (or worse)!!

It's prohibition all over again...and we know how that turned out. ;)

Especially in Singapore the usage of aroma delivery systems is widespread, especially in hotels, public toilets, company offices. You can't escape it, and sometimes it is so strong that I need to stop breezing, or cover me nose.
This are the white plastic boxes which can be seen everywhere mounted at walls.
The thing the health authority does not know is, the chemicals used in these devices are widely identical to the ones used for vaping.
    Health Not-So-Authority.

On a total of 51 billion revenue collected in 2011, 750 million appear more like pocket money.

"HSA added that there is "no conclusive scientific evidence" on the safety of vaporisers with regard to users' long-term health, or the effectiveness of vaporisers in helping smokers quit tobacco use. "Studies suggest that vaporisers containing nicotine may be dangerous, deliver unreliable doses of nicotine, or contain toxic chemicals or carcinogens that are potentially harmful to health," said HSA. "

They really haven't been paying attention.

Mr. Gam the Minister of Health said a while back, for as long as there is no evidence it is harmless they will not open another avenue for addiction. Quoted by the meaning not the exact words.

The problem is they can show you any time how spot on successful almost all of their policies have proven. How the number of smokers has declined, how little drug abuse, how little heavy crime.

Yes, no doubt about it--it's a very clean society, no lo-Lifes allowed, but really, in this day and age, it's pretty well known that vaping is less harmful than cigarettes, so if the Health Authority really cares about it's citizens, advocating an approach to smoking cessation pursued by Western Govts, might be the way forward, guys--or, do we just birch the ones who can't quit?

Been in Singapore too long to know that people do not have any say in government policies. But still people still voted for them as on the bigger picture, they did bring Singapore to what it is today. A world class country.

While many policies are not liked, they are certainly needed at times.

BUT THIS PARTICULAR ONE........... Sigh....... only 1 word.... STUPID.

True, for a tiny piece of real estate--she certainly does 'punch above her weight', that's for sure.

Be carefull what you say on social vape related media. You see here they monitor things closely with regards to vaping. Even if they don't say anything does not mean they don't know.

Hmmm, not much science in the HSA in my opinion. Greed and stupidity prevail.

Since they like to spread misinformation....

"Members of the public who have information on the illegal importation, distribution or sales of vaporisers can call HSA's Tobaccao Regulation Branch at 6684 2036 or 6684 2037 during office hours, or email them at hsa_trb@hsa.gov.sg, HSA said. "

I wonder :chinrub: what would happen if they started receiving a flood of bad tips and information to keep them busy chasing ghosts :ha ha ha:

It does not work here like it works in the US.
They may and will finish your living if you are caught bullying police or government. If you are foreigner they will send you home. If you stayed for years you'll get exactly a week to clear up things and leave, if you stayed here for months they may give you say 2 days. That was your last contact with Singapore.
There is no acceptance for actions causing high cost to society, or years of investigation for finding out a truth. Everyone is asked to keep they cost to society low.
