Hi. I received my Panzer Copper and Zenith V2 today and set it up. Although, I am getting dry hit that are very harsh and not enjoyable even with the cotton soaked. Extremely hurts my throat. I've tried different juices, etc. but still very harsh. Also noticing that when I burn off residual before resoaking, only one coil glows red. But anyway, very harsh vape and burn tase. I think I am actually smoking the cotton even though it's soaked. Any suggestions? Anyone please repost to any forum if I can get some help with this. Thanks so much.

    Harsh vape!

Sorry if you saw this post anywhere else. I am cross posting from Newbies forum. Hope someone can help me out. It feels like I am smoking newspaper and not vaping... :(

It came already with cotton in it. Original coil as I have not rebuilt it or anything. Maybe I shuld clear out the cotton in it and put new cotton looser. Thanks for much for your reply. :)

I'd take out the cotton and coil, and toss that. Then I'd disassemble the zenith completely and clean and scrub it - especially those screws that go into the posts. Most of the attys I've bought were very dirty out of the package (my zenith clone was the dirtiest). Machine oils or whatever I guess. That would be my first concern.

Also, if only one coil is glowing, that's not good and could also be the cause. They should both be glowly evenly. Make sure the coil is tightened down enough.

Hope you have kanthal and cotton ready so you can build a new coil for yourself. Chok dee na.

Yep, I'd so a full strip down, full re built with new coil and cotton and see how that goes. Make sure the airholes on the Zenith are directly where the coils are too.

Will do. Also, I don't have a butane torch to heat up the coil red hot then squeeze with tweezers to hold the form. Can I just use a regular lighter? Or can I hook it up to the mod, glow it red, then squeeze the coil tight?

    Re: Harsh vape!

You can but it might be tricky and also the lighter might get really hot.

Yes, that's what I do, using my mech mod I will pulse the coil and then with tweezers squeeze the coil together, the same you see them do it on all the YouTube videos.
I always hold them for a minute, then let go when the coil is cool, then do it again till it looks perfect.

Also I always turn on my gas stove and run the A1 Kanthal across the flames till it's red before making the coil, just cleans it up and makes it better for making the coil

Thanks a lot. I am still trying to learn how to use this forum lol. By the way the recoiling work. :)

    - - - Updated - - -

I recoiled it and it's working good. I did a 9 wrap. I don't have an ohm meter so I am just winging it. I made a pretty good two coils finally after breaking 2. Live and learn I guess. LOL. Do any of you have a preference for the number of wraps or what is your favorite? Also, yes, the nicotine definitely makes a difference. The lighter the nicotine, the smoother and less harsh. It's still satisfying though. It's been a learning experience and I'm figuring it out slowly. :)

    :unbelievable:

You dont use ohm meter ?? really , you shouldnt do that !!

That belongs to the most important things if you build up your own Coils !

While you're waiting for your meter, you should at least use an online coil calculator (Coil wrapping | Steam Engine | free vaping calculators) to help stay in a safe ohm range for whatever battery you're using.

Glad to hear it's working for you now. I had a couple coils come with my zenith also, but they were not pre-installed. They were really wide, I'm guessing 22 or 24 gauge, and they definitely weren't made of kanthal. I still have them, but don't plan to ever use them. Different metals probably have different resistances, but if these were anything like kanthal, the ohms of those dual coils would be seriously sub-ohm. If yours were the same, that could've been dangerous depending on your battery.

Did much dirt come off your zenith? I was really surprised by the amount of orange-y black gunk that came off my post screws.
