Well, it's certainly a step away from chicken little and "the sky is falling". That's how California resolved the legal weed situation. IMHO, it always kinda sucks to get a doctor involved, but in CA, getting a 'script for weed is about $100.00 from just about any doc and there's never an argument. Worse yet... it's that "government regulatory" bs that over-complexifies things beyond what's necessary. Gotta say, the vaping industry for the most part has evolved with an obvious display of self-policing and responsibility on its own. There will always be exceptions like with Five Pawns, cloned everything, etc.

As an addendum, small-scale experiments note that although there is some 2nd-hand exposure to nicotine for non-vapers, there was no exposure to toxic elements involved in combustion smoking, and the exposure level to nicotine was 10 times lower than with regular cigarettes. Ckapp, I am careful these days not to judge. We all make decisions based on what we are told and what we feel, and I think it's a pretty stinky attitude to hold any kind of judgement over anyone so long as they do not afflict anyone else. Despite what you might have been led to believe, your HVD in all likelihood did not in fact come from substance abuse (or use - when does substance use become abuse? Anyone here been using crack cocaine responsibly?).
My wife also has this, and trust me, she wouldn't even smoke a cigarette - but when she had her last daughter, there is ample evidence that there was just such possibility for that disease to be transmitted.
Further more, before I came to Thailand over three years ago, I had a full check over - perfect health, no disease; even my cholesterol was 3.4! I had a 72 point check - I don't know how that might way against a UK MOT, but I'm guessing my emissions are worse now than they were then.
It is very rare for HVD to be transmitted sexually unless anal sex is prevalent - f&*k if I was that lucky! (My wife is really gorgeous btw). But you can catch it from measures that most people will not consider. My doctor for instance (when I was in the UK) was a Muslim. Apparetly there was a very big issue with people making their pilgrimage to mecca - many had their heads shaved. Simple as that. One blade to another head - and the disease is spread.
Now, they say that if you live an OK life, don't over do it, don't drink alcohol etc you'll be alright! Most people with HVD die without knowing it and, it never affects them. I can say that my wife completely ignores everything, drinks what she wants, eats what she wants and always her liver is fine. Maybe this is one of those diseases that we as a species are overcoming.
Anyhow, my friend; stay clear of red meat, try to keep away from alcohol, and if you can find yourself a nice young beautiful subject, and maybe take up painting or something I think you've got another 30 years in you
