1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

No, not at all. I usually don't comment on something I'm not sure about, but in this case I thought there may be some concerns. There is a lot going on with chemical reactions in the e-liquid and the wire itself when you concentrate a large amount of power through a smaller wire with less surface area and no way to know what temperature the coil is reaching. This very well could be absolutely fine. If the mod is delivering the required 9.54 volts then you are getting 35 watts at this resistance. I don't know which mod you are using but I assume it's capable of this voltage. According to which mod you are using this should be getting very close to the capabilities of the mod.

@all, thanks for your concerns for my safety. I'm a scuba diver and instructor as I said to others here. With scuba we have so few accidents because safety is paramount when diving, a lot of the accidents that do occur are caused by ignoring safety, could have been avoided.

Phew, glad that's out of the way ...

Until today I only had one mod, kanger subox. It has accepted everything I've thrown at it so far. Today my eVic mini arrived, what can I say, I like the screen, kanger eat your heart out.

The coil works fine, better than the previous one. Resistance seems to have dropped now to 2.1 ohms. But I will monitor it for overheating, as you guys seem to think that may be an issue. When I use RBA, short bursts are enough for tasting liquids, and plenty of vapour, so haven't given it the full 10 seconds, yet.

I do also promise to revise my ohms law, at some point soon, thanks for keeping me safe until then :)

Scuba some devices don't display when they run into their limit, but they do limit. Probably you know already so just in case you are not aware.

Hmmm, yes, after a tasting session today my kanger isn't so happy with the coil, keeps on reading different resistance ... So maybe I'll rebuild with 26g, or could be that battery is flat, I'll try a freshly charged bat too :)
    **Updated**
Ps, I managed to break one of the legs on the 28g coil ... Might have been the narrow gauge with high amps, or might have been my adjustments ... So now using 26g kanthal 3mm ID around 9 wraps says 1.2 ohm

The Kanger tops out at 9 volts so that would have been 31 watts at 2.6 ohms. The VTC Mini will top out at 8 volts, almost 25 watts at 2.6 ohm. It would appear you didn't get the full 35 watts.. The leg breaking does not surprise me. When a coil fails it will be there. I didn't expect that this coil would make it too long. The 26 ga. at 1.2 ohm should make for a better experience. Keep us posted.

TVM ... My coil making is improving, so taste etc better each time ... And yes, I backed off the wattage after what you guys said, and worked just as well at maybe 25w ish ...

On my purchase list now is RDA with velocity deck, I really don't like messing around with the legs to position the coil, I think this is why the leg broke actually ...

A Velocity clone is a good RDA. I have a couple myself. Once you start building on the Velocity style decks, everything else just pisses you off.
