1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

    Based on my recent spendings
    • 250ml of Nic 100mg from Hiliq, shipping included : $35 That's about enough to make 4 liters of e-juice at 6mg
    • 2l of PG, 2l of VG from Chemipan : about $20 with shipping
    • Flavouring : using strong flavours from Inawera or Flavorart (mixed at 3%), you'll need minimum $33 worth of flavours to mix 4l of juice but obviously it could be 2, 3 or many times that if you want to have tons of different flavours to play with, plus failed experiments, flavours you don't like and so on
    • Equipment : Fasttech digital scale $13, some bottles, stickers, etc... $10
Total cost $111, 100ml will cost you $2.8, about 4 times cheaper than the cheapest available juice in Thailand!
Even if you buy $100 worth of flavours, the cost will be $4.5 per 100ml, still much cheaper than anything else.

Considering than with the proper set of flavours you can recreate at home many best selling juices worth $20/30ml, plus invent anything you wish, DIY seems like the natural step for most vapers. It also nice to know the insane profit margin many juice companies are making. (What? The famous xxx vanilla custard sold $50 per bottle is actually x% of this flavour, y% of that and z% of this? Holy shit I can do this at home for 1% of the price).

Luckily I cloned my ADV and I buy 22oz each of PG-VG on ebay for $18.00 and this will last me a good 2 months a few oz,of nic.lasts a real long time, and flavoring is cheap. So it is pretty economical for me

Both VG and PG are readily available in Thailand [quality compared to Western Pharmaceutical grades--not sure] in Chiang Mai we have Union Science and they sell 450 ml glass bottles of both--around 200 Baht each.
So far so good--but then comes the decent flavourings--these all have to be shipped in from abroad, whether Customs decides to apprehend them no one knows, it will be up to their interpretation--plus shipping costs can easily double the cost price; then comes the more difficult component which is the Nic base--and, while, as Caribou says, this can be as cheap as $35 for 250 ml @100mg, my worry when sending for a 250 ml bottle is that this size is much more likely to get 'noticed' at Laksi Customs--and, unlike flavourings, Nic base is not in 'grey area' with Customs--this is 100% illegal and will get seized--so, while Home brewing does indeed work out much cheaper, on the whole--there are a lot of unknowns which can completely screw up your calculations; plus, then you have folks who might ask for a certain, odd, flavour and you only need to ever make maybe 50 ml, and these smaller amounts tend to cost a little more due to whatever; I just noticed that Micky is selling feel-life E Juices at 50 Baht for 10 ml--now that, as a commercial enterprise--where Micky obviously has to make a small amount-- makes that juice really cheap. [I didn't say it was my favourite, just that it is cheap]
I tend not to make up E-liquids for other folks, some don't like my liquids which is fine with me, some want strange concoctions, and so on--so, mixing for me is mainly a means to get, as far as I can tell, clean ingredients that I can vape--but, if I do sell any, it's usually 100 baht for 10 ml. which is the same price as the local Thai vape seller sells his juice--and I used to see queues t his place.

Yeah it's very true, any problem with customs will totally screw up your ROI. And while I'm good to go for a long time with my first INW order, I'm about to order plenty of FA flavours. And I guess after that I will want to try Capella ones and so on haha. :D

Register yourself here e-Liquid Calculator the amount of recipes there is astounding :p

I just ordered my PG and VG from HongHuatShop | ครบเครื่องเรื่องน้ำหอม :) I know I'm still new here but I figured I'd try and share what I can. I ordered my flavours from Chef's Vapour in the UK. I'll give you more updates as things progress.

I started vaping 3 weeks ago and I'm already pursuing bigger devices and crazier flavours. Why not make your own? For me, fun and a little adventure xD

You win some, you lose some.
Actually, I've been lucky so far- but there have been cases mentioned on here- but, considering how many of us are buying Vape gear from abroad, the % that gets apprehended is remarkably low.
