1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

Could you please explain the use and utility of temperature control?

And that's where this thing comes in.

    Kangertech - KBOX Mini Platinum

Wouldn't be surprise if Kanger release this in a kit with matching tank in the very near future.

Finally lost in temptation... I have ordered the evic vtc mini ! And to use the TC, also ordered the Uwell Crown tank... But wondering now... Not sure to be able to vape the Ni 0.15 coils because the evic is not enough powered at max 70W? With this power range, should I better go to the SS dual coil 0.5 Ohm (knowing that evic can use TC with SS coils since firmware 2.0) ?

At 75W you will be fine, remember that it is a lot different than just applying to the coil, you are actually applying the wattage to get to the desired temperature of the coil.

The wattage adjustment will impact how quickly your coil gets up to temp but if it's too low you may have difficulties getting there. For example, 15W of power can make for a nice, slow and smooth ramp up but if you have your temp set at 500 F, it may not be enough to reach that temp and instead it will be a lower temp vape than what you set. You can observe what watts your mod is getting up to while you vape and adjust if it isn't enough.

With most TC mods you don't have to worry about a high wattage setting as the temp regulation will regulate the applied wattage. It's not the same as a VW mod in that respect. If you use a higher wattage setting and you feel the initial burst of vape is too fast or strong, you can dial down the wattage.

I have noticed I get longer battery life using temp control. The only thing that bothers me is the Ni coils, as I am allergic to any jewellery containing nickel, so Titanium coils is the only way I can use Temp Control on my eVic VT. Although I have not tried Ni coils, so can't say it would cause a reaction, just don't want to risk it.

I am also wondering what is the health impact of the Ni coils... By the way, after updating your evic with firmware 2.0, you are also able to use SS coils with TC, not only Titanium. And moreover, I saw in various discussions that SS coils are giving the best vape taste compared to Ni and Ti ?

I'm wondering if those who have reactions to Nickel find they also have reaction to SS coils as Nickel makes up close to 10% of SS. Does anyone know one way or another?

Theoretically you should be able to use Uwell Crown stock coil with Evic Mini in SS mode as well so you might want to give that a try.

Sure, I will try the TC on evic vtc with the SS coils ! I still have to receive the mod and the tank from Big, in stand-by cause I am waiting for the Uwell crown in black color that he is going to receive soonest (like a pre-order).

    if you asked why ...
no more burned taste ever ... that would pretty much sum it up

After 2 weeks of intensive use, I can say that using TC on the evic mini + uwell crown tank on Ni 0.15 Ohm coil is the best vaping experience I ever had! The flavour is just incredible and the vapour generated is amazing!!! For instance, I am not often monitoring the juice qty remaining in the tank and when no more juice, there is no more burn taste, just flavourless vape and it is very great! The only thumb down for me, it is the huge increase of juice consumption, wow, a full tank doesn't last for long...

I concur. I have both, a Joyetech mechanical and the eVic VTC Mini. To me temperature control is the way to go, even though it's not that perfect yet. I don't know why some people say it makes things more complex, it's straight out the opposite.

I heard Joyetech is working on a real temperature control with real temp sensor. Great

How many watts do you need to get this vape?

I am adjusting the temp depending of the juice and taste but the wattage is fixed at 40W for me.
