Do you bother to boil your cotton before using it?

That watsons organic cotton says lint free, but the box is FULL of lint. For some reason it really dries my throat out.

I use ambulance brand cotton balls bought at drugstores, the pads from 7-11 dont taste the same. 25 baht for a huge bag, i dont boil. The bag says 100% pure natural fiber in thai along with saying sterilized with light (assuming its ultra violet light). Honestly, this is the best ive found (apart from trying that japanese stuff). Rayon is made by chemical proccessessing.

Back to the 'Boiling Question'-after doing this, although I'm sure that the cotton wool is 'purer' it makes it a load more difficult to fluff it back up before using it as a wick-this was not mentioned in the videos I watched which detailed the boiling process-every little ball ends up all mashed together and it takes a few minutes to pick the strands apart before attempting to make it into a wick-I doubt that I will be doing it again.
Mind you, smugly, I feel much healthier than you lot! !!
Edit-the video I watched was made by RipTripped-Out, so it might be a little OTT, maybe. The principle appealed to me, though-trying to remove bleach and other toxins, Pesticides etc. .

I'm picking up some Japanese on my return to CNX but might get a bag of this Ambulance type version just to try-its Watsons' own brand, yes?
Edit-no, it's not, you say Pharmacies.

You are actually supposed to sing that during the boiling process-to achieve maximum sterility-or, so I'm told!

Rayon is made through use of chemicals but there are no latent chemicals in it. It is pure cellulose fiber in its final form. I am speaking about the commonly used varieties of rayon discussed in forum threads. Some in the past have taken the stance there are chemicals etc but all were shown to have erroneous information or otherwise disproved. Rayon is used to treat open wounds and has health safety certifications from different gov institutions and deemed safe. If anyone who has health concerns and wants to read more, check out the massive thread at ECF. Should dispel most people's worries and clarify what rayon truly is.

My box of the watsons organic is quite lint-free and never had dry throat when I was trying it out. You may have gotten a bad batch there. Also understand some folks are sensitive to different things and of course can have different preferences which I always respect.

A plus with the watsons is that it tasted cleaner and wicked better than any other varieties of cotton that I tried. That includes ambulance and some other sterilized cotton I had when in the USA. Never personally tried KGD or Muji but heard those are very good.

I highly recommend rayon. Cleaner tasting, wicks better than any cotton varieties I have tried, lasts longer and transitions between juices better. Also has a higher burn temp compared to cotton.
