Would be much nicer to build on if they used some decent knurled nuts

Thanks. It's great. I think this will now become my everyday device on top of my 18650 mech mod. I only need a few new batteries. Any suggestions now that VTC5's aren't available anymore?

0.5 ohms with 6 wraps of 26g Kanthal.
Buying from Micky is always a good idea. Make up your mind, place an order, transfer money. Job done. Going to Big, browse, pick, pick, pick, break the bank. Not good. Ah well, it's only money...

Hey-hey, Phil!! Glad you got that working the way you wanted! Blood, sweat and tears, man! I bet the next one will be less painful for you. :)

The LG HE2 batteries that Big carries are also pretty good.....some reported the EFest purples are the same but I am not sure. The Efest prples for me seemed to have shorter life than expected. If you can get VTC5 then that would be your very best choice.

My insulator on top is looking worse for wear. Not completely melted but starting to slowly degrade or something. I'll have a look around and see if I can find a replacement. Anyone have other suggestions for replacing it?

    I feel the same

Wow. That is interesting because I looked at the insulator too and found that the nut was a bit loose. This causes a short and makes the positive pin heat up quite a bit. Let me know if you find anything to replace that insulator with. I'll definitely be interested. Rick's link looks interesting.
