1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

Seems like sound advice...they must be picking up the batteries during scanning, which means mods with integral batteries are also to be avoided.

Unfortunately there's still no clear pattern in all this.
I'm pretty sure, that many thousands of battery-powered toys and gadgets are sent to Thailand everyday. Definitely can't be recognized on scanner what it is exactly - gopro_like camera or vape mod.
In this particular case I could guess one more reason to stop a parcel at the customs (nobody said yet it's confiscated): a person at the scanner saw three boxes containing three probably similar devices, which can be alleged as the attempt to import for sale. I suppose, nobody risks to send a few smartphones in one package simply because of that reason, so why the mods would be the exception? And, I think, the total value of those 3 devices was something like $20 written on the package? Ve-e-e-e-ery suspicious in the eyes of customs officer.
    Just my guess.
And I would, if that's possible, go to the customs for my parcel. To explain what it is, if necessary. To pay the import tax, if necessary. Or just get it for free, as maybe all that happened was a simple misunderstanding :)

Erm, definitely not. The law is perfectly clear, even if enforcement isn't. No sale, manufacture or importing of anything to do with vaping.
OP, sorry, but you have to look at it as a Pay it Forward. You've just helped a customs officer, or the person he sold the mod to, get off the stinkies. ( no wouldn't make me feel better either).

At the moment, the missing shipment just shows on 17track with an alert. "Latest Event -- 2016-03-13 21:06 Local mail tracking"

When I check in the Thai EMS system, all I get is: Item Not Found

That means it's not in the country yet...why did you say earlier it was at customs?

Because it is the only shipment that has
This is the tracking information on it:

    20/02/16 05:00 Item pre-advice received
20/02/16 16:45 Item received for processing
25/02/16 12:50 Order departed on flight from origin
04/03/16 14:18 Order departed from sorting hub
13/03/16 21:06 Status updates may be available from destination carrier

It had been like this for a couple days, with no alerts in 17track.

Checking 17track again yesterday, it moved in to alert status rather than in transit.

My apologies if this is indeed a false alarm, first time getting anything from Swedish Post. This is one particular case where I would be delighted to be wrong!

I wouldn't want to sound harsh, but could you, please, quote that law, which is so "perfectly clear"? I had read all of them, but never found anything like that.

Thank you for the links. Was quite funny to see the discussion about the law where the participants base their knowledge on some article by the news agency, not the law itself.
And, btw, noone was alerted by that strange sounding translation th-->en:
"list of 8 goods that have been barred from transfer through the Thai border by the United Nations"? Or everyone impersonates himself with UN novadays? :D
Well, as this isn't related to Fasttech anymore, I will probably continue in that thread from the 2nd link.
