1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

Have a look at the Customs confiscation/success threads. The more people add to them the better picture we can get, if there is one.

Srry I should've been more specific. My order didn't include any mod or tank so may be that was the reason why it got through ... may be.

Wonder if a 3D Printer can be used to make a mod and tank one day.

I would be on that like white on rice.

It won't be a problem to make a casing for a chip but I have serious doubts for the tank unless a 3D printer can print in stainless :D

You will also need a 510 connection but I;m pretty sure it will pass the customs undetected...

I think getting chips would not be a problem either.

I have a 3D printed mod that I designed myself. Printed in ABS. You have to do a lot work to get it looking right. The printing process produces a pretty rough looking product. I ended up sanding mine down as best I could and having it covered with a vinyl wrap. Minimal parts needed. 510 connector, push button switch, MOSFET, battery tabs and wire. All parts except the 510 are available in Thailand. I'm afraid the tank would melt or produce some nasty chemicals from the heat.

If I dont get me 3D printer up and running soon(cant get the right settings on the motors) I may be after a favour. I have a few designs done including the electronics. https://www.thailandvapers.com/threads/box-mod-design.9781/

I don't know how much help I would be. I just wanted my design printed so I went to the only shop in CM that has a 3D printer. The price was outrageous. In the end though I have a unique mod. I wouldn't do it again. The printed product is terrible and the time sanding and trying to get it looking smooth is too time consuming. I actually went through 2 mods. The first one I was smoothing out with evaporating acetone, it gives ABS 3D prints a nice smooth glossy look. Just as I was doing my last pass through the rice cooker, the switched arched and caused the acetone to explode and catch fire. All I could do was watch my finished mod burn into a little clump. The next one, I decided to sand only and then have a vinyl wrap applied. Counting up all the time in designing, testing, and then finishing the mod, it was not worth it to me. YMMV. Wooden or metal tube mods are the only way I am going now. Just finished my latest design on a tube mech. Should be up in a hand check soon,

I thought you had a 3d printer too, I considered getting mine printed in thailand too but the cost was twice the cost of printing with shapways and postage so i suspect the thai company was importing them for shapways too. I paid 150usd for my printer so it will be cost effective if i ever have the time to get things running. The problem with self designs is always the same, china already has everything cheep. and developing yourself takes months. I have working designs for 3D printed mods, the electronics, even PID controlled temp controlled mods that are more accurate than whats on the market. Colour graphic displays too. Not worth making them really as the time cant be paid for and production costs unless your manufacturing lots is not worth it. I still want to finish some mods myself but by the time I do they will probably be years out of date lol.

I just did a very simple dual 18650 non-regulated parallel mod with MOSFET and cool shape with slide on door that doesn't need magnets. I wanted the mod as small as possible and didn't leave my self much room to work. The whole project was a pain. I also did a dual 18650 with a single switch for parallel, off, serial without having to rearrange the batteries. I just used a project box for it and it works very well. No plans to make another. Again too much trouble. I looked into doing some mods in the same vein as the ones you have designed but put the brakes on it real quick when I started doing the math and components needed. I just did the tube mechs and my next plan is for a wooden dual 18650 parallel full mechanical. I am going to use copper plates to make all the connections, so there will be no wiring and a full mechanical switch. I wish you the best of luck getting your 3D printer up and running but I think once you see the quality, it would be useful for prototypes only. If you get to the point where you just want to see it printed, send me the STL and I can get a quote for you.

Here is an example of what it looks like straight off the printer.

Dimensions 98 mm X 48 mm X 24 mm. Way too small to work with comfortably and get everything in.

@Lotta this is great information. If you were to receive some kind of bribe would you consider doing a complete write up for the DiY section?
