I just want to add, if i fix it you get it back, if i dont you get it back too if you want it, i dont want any money or anything, i just like playing eletronics.

if all fails i can put a new chip in, dont know the cost tho, but i know where to get chip....

That whole fiasco is such a shame. I guess nothing came from sending a video of the problem to Cloupor. I know it's no consolation, but if it were me I'd look into buying a DNA30 chip, quality spring-loaded 510 connection, and finding someone with soldering experience to rebuild it. The case itself is great, you've got the buttons and battery sled and whatever else. Don't toss it out. It could be made into a cleanly built, reliable mod.

    Edit:
I even saw pics of one that had the screws on the back of the case replaced with magnets for easy battery swapping.

Thanks for the input guys, you all must be up like me watching the World Cup .... what's up with Brazil?

Ok Mash, if you want to tinker with it let me know where to meet up with you. It would probably be an easy fix if there wasn't so much glue to mess with, removing it is going to be the time waster, a lot of picking with tweezers. I think the chip is most likely ok because all the menu functions seem to work with no issues. I just don't understand the reason for all the glue, to hide the shoddy construction?

Yes, I remember you're on the dark side. I'm just off Central Road near Soi Buakhao so I can easily make it up to Sukhumvit. Mornings are out for me too mate, I rise the same time as you. lol

If mash can't fix it I'll have a go, same deal, you can have it back either way. You can buy a new chip from FT as well, if it is the chip that is bad. Anyway, the hot glue is easy to remove, just heat it up with a hair dryer and pick it off with some paper towels. I have a feeling its the 510 connection causing the problem, check it with a multimeter to make sure it isn't shorted. If neither of you have one, I have one. Hopefully its just poorly applied solder.

The same thing happened to my 2nd DNA 30 clone I bought from Big. It was the very next day after I had picked it up from Big that it died. As I live in Bangkok, I took it to his shop. He did all those things which I see in your pic. While he was destructing my clone, looking at the shape of it, I started praying that it won't get fixed because I did not want anything back that might work, but looked like yours in the pic. Anyways the prayers were answered and he could not fix it. After taking it all apart and trying to fix it for about half an hour, he gave up. To his credit he opened his money pouch and started counting the money he had to refund me. I had a feeling that whatever pieces are defective, he pays out of his pocket and there is no guarantee by the manufacturer, or the process of returning and getting a new one is too expensive and time consuming. So I decided to not take the money and told him I was ready to wait for a replacement. It's been a month and a half and am sure one of these days he will call me up and ask me to come and collect it.

I have a meter, also probes and test wires, as i see it the problem can only be from 2 wires, the ones going from pcb to the 510 or the 510 itself as the mods menu works it aint any of the others connetions.:vaping:

If you don't have a hair dryer to remove the hot glue, you can also use one of those cans of compressed air. I'm not sure if that would damage the chip, but it does make the glue easy to remove. I used it to remove a bunch of glue from the centre post of my Magma clone.

Sounds like you could discover the problem real quick Mash. Yeah, I've got a feeling it's the 510 as well, read a few reports online that these clones have cheapie 510 connectors. I also think the "check atomizer" message is a fault of the programming in the chip. I've read that newer versions of the chip have changed that message to just display "Hana Modz" coz it has nothing to do with atomizers.

Sorry to hear you had the same problem Emmess. I agree, it's not Big's fault and to his credit as you wrote, he did try to rectify the problem. Being a vendor he has a little more power with the Manufacturer than us but not much. lol

Thanks to you too Ryan for your offer to help but I'm sure Mash might be able to fix it. I'm feeling more confident now knowing he has some good electronic equipment and not just a hacksaw. :rolling laugh:
