I would think any of the home improvement places would have them. Closest one to me is about 2.5 hours drive.

I kinda like these the best, small and fold up too. Might have to try my first order with FT.

 

i also know the frustration. but, it is a classic "like riding a bike" situation. when you first start out you wonder how this will ever work. then you get the hang of it and you wonder how you ever had problems. my advise is just to keep building and after a while it will become easier.

 

Was in town today and picked up a small bench vice for 350B. Its just a basic vice...nothing fancy at all. Then I stuck some non-slip tape (like they use for slippery floors, stairs and shower floors) on the grip surfaces of the vice, to make them softer and sticky.

Put my MVP in it and screwed the tank base on. Its the next best thing to having a third hand!



If I want to spin the base a bit, I just unscrew it a little and then unscrew the beauty ring so it comes up and holds the base in position. Works great!

This is what I bought from Big...I has 510 threading so you can screw your atty on.... It is stainless and heavier as a Kayfun full of juice ( sorry, I had to compare it with something)... If I remember right he sold it to me for 100 Baht.....

 

I use the VAMO (it has a built in ohm meter, and it's really all I use it for these days) as a stand for building the deck. I use 26 gauge so I understand the frustration on getting the wire to stay under the screws.

However, the quick and easy solution is to buy the Kayfun 3.1 ES version which has holes to thread the wire through and then clamp down with screws.

1.5 Ohm 0.2 mm Kanthal with Cotton ..
