At first I was excited at the option for mounting holes on a Kayfun, but won't that dramatically change the ohms calculation, as it requires much longer leads?

Yes, the holes require longer leads, but no it doesn't affect the Ohms. When I'm wiring for the 3.1 or the lite, I wind the same number of coils and leave enough wire for leads. Essentially, when I wind the coil it is the same for ES or lite. Then on both, you trim off the excess. I am finding that the ES will have the same resistance reading as the lite, and even when there is more wire used as lead.

My explanation is that while more wire is needed to press the lead into the holes (then clamp with the screws), the wire still makes contact with the block on the sides (above the hole). Electricity will go up through the battery inter the center positive post into the insulated center block, through wire, and into the negative on the other side. Electricity also takes a path of least resistance. So while there is more wire for the leads the electricity is going into the coil at the point it makes contact with the block (i.e. it doesn't flow through the wire). So any excess wire does not affect ohms.

I wasn't sure if that was the case. Thanks for the explanation!

I am still waiting for a review about this KayFun.... Is it worth buying or not?

-V- when are you gonna give the black one away?

Has someone bought and received one of those. I decided against them since I believed there is no bottom fill, or is it? But I need to replace some FT clones that fall to pieces so I may have to look here again.

I just received a couple these. Am still only in the first few days of use, so don't really want to comment on their overall performance as yet.

Having said that, I am impressed so far. The vape quality is quite good. They are side filling if you like but, get this, even the instruction booklet suggests that, if you don't want leaks, top fill it!
So this is what I have been doing.
The finish on these is quite good. Although the plastic center tank is pretty crappy. Not as good quality as you would get with a Russian, or even the replacement ones available from local vendors. So I will be ordering a few plastic center tanks very soon, as I have already damaged one!

Both the black and silver ones look very nice atop the Provari. And if they continue to perform I might order a couple more. We'll see......

So, as stated, this is just a first impression. Might comment more after a week of use.

Here they are. The black one has a replacement KF center tank. Has quite the Darth-Vaper look due to the black internal chimney.
