Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

I have gotten into the habit of vaping in the same way I used to smoke as well, still follow the no smoking signs and rules and try not to do it in crowded places or with children around, just seems sensible to not push things .. and seems like I'm not the only one thinking that way.

... seems like anything else I try and write is getting flagged as spam and blocked! :)

I'm proud to be a vaper and if vaping in public places means I get notices, then I'm happy to explain to anyone who asks what I'm doing.

Normally, by the time I get to passed the lack of 4000 carcinogens speech, they seem to lose interest and walk away.

I live in a condo and have been told off for smoking in the room, not by my landlady she couldn't care less (she told me that) but by the office at the complex.

So I then smoked sitting on the balcony, but that was also a no no. The security guards are proper 'jobsworth' people. I had one seecurity guy yelling at me for getting out of the taxi on the wrong side (go figure)

Well now, I deliberately vape, everywhere and anywhere around my complex....
.... in the lift, walking to my room, downstairs where all the no smoking signs are and they never say a word.

At least try to get in that 69 of those carcinogens cause cancer.

Run after them if you have to!!!

Very interesting thread, I was actually wondering about the law in Thailand regarding the gaping practice :very good:

It is mainly for the few opportunities I am traveling to Bangkok, because on the far country side at home, there is no real deal, even for smoking cigarettes...

I've never seen anyone vape. Period.

I don't get out much, but you would think that you would notice something like that.

As I've said before, I've seen many vaping in public places, both Thai and falang, including indoor restaurants, shopping malls, etc. Personally, I stealth vape anywhere you wouldn't normally smoke a cigarette. Sometimes a cloud does slip out at the cinema however, but nobody has ever said anything to me.

Personally I am not too discreet at all, except when I have to be, of course. I generally find myself going to places where i can smoke anywhere, as that is where I have been going tofor ALL my time in Thialand.

But I have to say that I am now having more fun than ever in those places.

Take last night for instance. Now this may have happened to you as well but I found it quite amusing when you are sitting in the smoking area in a restaurant, vaping merrily away, (I tend to vape everywhere with my VTR as I have fairly big hands and can almost completely hide it from sight. I do carry and ego and mini protank as well, just in case I need to be a little bit more discreet.(and a semi-frantic waitress comes running up with an ashtray, because she hasn't seen you using one at all adn so you must be ashing on the floor or table or something. Now what I find MOST amusing is the look on the face when you tell her you don't need an ashtray, ask her to take the one already there away and show them this lump of metal that is producing all this "smoke". Confusion is putting it mildly.

This has happened to me twice so far and I am looking forward to causing more confusion soon. My better half generally has to explain a little better than I can as well, When she stops giggling.

Ive vaped pretty much anywhere i would usually smoke, like in closed bars and discos most recently and never had any problems. Although i wouldnt smoke in places like Big-C or Central Festival unless it was in the bathroom. I usually "follow the rules" in restaurants though just to avoid confusion with the staff, if its non smoking i can wait. One good thing since i have started vaping my urge to "vape" has decreased drastically compared to when i was smoking cigs... so i can hold off much longer.

I never noticed anyone before vaping until i vaped myself but of course i never looked for it I guess... but now that I do i have seen a few other guys.
