1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

trying it on the Vamo now and it works well with a single battery - the bottom of the vamo gets warm though, is that supposed to happen? Getting paranoid as I read about all these exploding batteries...

I will do as a vamo has built in VV and VW...

Could be a spring problem, back with the first batches of vamos there were some problems with the springs getting warm. What color is the spring? Is it a brass color?

Clean the spring at the base of the Vamo it may help with that. The springs are there to protect you as well. if you are worried about heat at all - just lower the volts a bit to 4.3 or 4.2. - whatever you feel most comfortable with. What do you have on top of the Vamo?

Hey - thanks for all the advice guys. I have the same igo-L on top of the vamo and it is all working well now... I will just remember not to stack batteries again.

I have an 18650 coming from Micky tomorrow - will that work better, or just last longer?

Paddy for dripping on a protected mod like a vamo or Provari SVD etc I have found that a coil between 1.2 to 1.5 ohms is the best. The protected mods will not fire usually below 1.2 ohms which is why everyone raves about the DNA 20 and DNA 30 mods which will fire as low as .8 I understand giving sub ohm drippers the added protection of built in circuitry.

Just as good and safer and longer.

Wow...one, if the bottom is getting hot, stop using it. Doesn't matter if it is the spring or the battery, just stop. Even if it is the spring, its going to transfer that heat to the battery, and you don't want your batteries heating up at all.

Second, stacking batteries is fine, you just want to marry them and follow all the other battery safety guidelines. You stack batteries in a flashlight, you stack them in your remote control, they are stacked inside your laptop. The problem only comes into play when you are trying to drain them too low or too fast. Part of why I am against mech mods altogether. If you don't understand how the chemistry of the battery works, you shouldn't put wire connecting both ends. Just use a protected device and let the chip do the thinking for you.

Again, read up on your specific model of battery and what its limits are. On a protected device, you can't over-discharge your battery. On a mech mod, you can do that quite easily, and "bad things can happen". Know how Ohms law works, the resistance of your coil, how many amps your battery can put out, and learn how the vape changes as your battery discharges. I've fought Lithium battery fires (I'm a firefighter) and they are damn near impossible to put out. If you have to use a mech, you should definitely invest in a Kick or Kick 2.

Anyone who uses a mech mod at all should read this. In fact, it should probably be a sticky somewhere...maybe it already is.

Truly have seen the light when i got the SVD today and as my understanding of battery's is limited i feel saver when i read rayans posts. A reason why i don't like mech mods is because i want my device be able to read the battery status, the ohm of the atomizer and the power i am currently using. A ohm meter measurement device is alone already useful when building coils on kayfun or RDA's let alone the measurement of the resistance our coil has and knowing the approximated power to use.
Sub ohm is for sport Vapers who care only about the "cloud" and how low can you go and how much can you blow.... Remember when you picked up Vaping, why you picked up Vaping. Currently 100% enjoyment for myself is the SVD whit a Kayfun 3.1 clone, 1.9 ohm single micro coil from a Kantal A1 28 gauge wire at 4.2 volt in 18650 mod:vaping: 100% enjoyment:vaping: tomorrow i will trow in a 18350 battery for the go to make the SVD-Kayfun a bit shorter:rolling laugh: this combi is a huge ass mod.... but love it. In the 18650 mod my wife's comment was wow, is this not to big? Well i haven't heard that before from here......:rolling laugh:
