The latest crackdown only started around 11-12 June...was this prior to that?

Yep, not a westerner in sight. ;)

Easy for him to say as a Thai...I don't worry too much about the police in my home country either. But as a guest in a foreign country, the rules are a wee bit different. :)

    Same here (Chiang Mai).
I've seen a guy dripping and blowing clouds at his table outside a bar during the afternoon.
A girl vaping on a huge box mod waiting for her kao mung khai.
And today, when I arrived in a DVD shop, blowing the last cloud before going in, the seller told me I could vape in his shop and showed me his UD Balrog.
We might be (rightfully) hiding, but thai people aren't.

The way i see vaping it is on a rise here in TH. When i started 3 year's ago there weren't so many local vendors selling decent gear and juice. Back then you could chose between fellife, hangseng or joytech juice or wait 2 week's or longer for oversee orders. Now i have the feeling the local market gets flooded with Malay juice and even dyi supplies are available.
Jatujak market is a good example for enforcing no smoking in public places. Every we're are the non smoking signs posted with the warning of a 2000 BTH fine since year's. I have see tourists smoking were tolled not to or they would have to pay but the locals are they vendors, visitors or even security personel smoking everywere without hiding there cigarettes. Now i see the same happening with vaping and to be honest i hope it stays that way.

You mean to say that you are okay with the situation as long as ONLY tourists and farangs are caught, fined and/or arrested? Or am I misinterpreting it? @Anbessa

I really hope it doesn't stay that way!

Not good for foreigners if they are the ones paying 50,000 Baht, like the 2,000 Baht for the cig.

The 50,000 Baht is insane anyway, for foreigners and for Thai people.

It is not ok, and in the first place it is not ok if foreigners are charged higher prices for venues, or a foreigner generally gets the blame if there is a traffic accident.

Wasn't talking about the fees for anything else than vaping or smoking and this comparisons are a whole different topic. I am fine as long as i can vape away without beeing fined and this seems to be the general mindset here in TH. I can't change this ban on vaping but also did not hear of anyone being charged the sum mentioned or imprisoned for vaping.
Correct me if i am wrong please.
For now i keep away from jumping on the panic train a watch whats going on but again what i see is just very different from a crack down on vaping.
