1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

I usually use 2.5 mm ID but have one now with a 3.0 mm ID that's working well.

@-V- : Forgot to mention in the earlier post that I hope you get it straightened out without much hassle. I know you were doubtful about giving the KFV4 another try to begin with!

I loved the Kayfun 4 until it started having problems with wicking and leaking and parts not firmly in place.
Now it's been shelved. It won't get used again and I'm really disappointed with it.
I'm still using my 3.1s and they have been great for over a year.

Some of the clones have had issues but the tobecco clone seems to be spot on...I really hope it works out for V because this thing reaslly is a great vape and so easy to maintain and fill.

If the insides of the k4 are not tight then the liquid flow can still be closed off. start by rebuilding the base and tightening it all.

I did a dis-assemble and re-assemble early on with my first one and found myself fumbling some with one of the sections in getting it together only to discover that I was putting it on upside down or something like that. I was just too rushed to begin with all those parts. Now I've got it down pat and Talen's right, a great vape and it's very easy to maintain and fill.

Good advice from Mack here as well.

I'm in the "I just can't get this to work" camp for the v4. The original kf is a classic. Even with the newer version out there the original version is still in production which is really unheard of. The older version is just much simpler and easier to deal with. I am now coming back to the original version because I need the single coil and higher resistance for smaller sized batteries.

Sorry to hear that Sub. Like I told another member (bad memory), I might be interested if he or you want to get rid of your KFV4s. Do you have a Tobeco clone or other?

I see that @fruit-lover and @Submaniac both have problems with the Kayfun V4 but not the Kayfun V3.1 After I learned to asemple the Kaifun V4 so that the base is not loose, I have had no problems with the Kayfun V4 whatsoever, at least so fare, It's my best tank at the moment...BUT I also have a Kayfun V3.1 from Heatvape, and even I have got it to work, so I can use it, it sometimes leak a bit. And everytime i have to refill it, that thing will leak. I have tried to fill it up on the bottom with this little fill whole, both with a syringe and needle cap bottles, and the juice is just running nicely alongside the tank on the outside. Regardless how hard i press the needle cap bottle, no juice will go inside. Next try is to fill that up from the top, closing the airflow screw and holding my finger over the airhole. Fill it, and when i screw the topcap on again it will start leaking mostly where the 510 pin is screwed into the atomizer. After cleaning the little mess up, the tank performs well, and actually also a good vape and taste, until I have to fill that thing up again. I can fill the Lemo, the lemo 2, the Kayfun V4 or the Taifun GT II without anything leaking, but the Kaifun V3.1 I have no idea how to stop it from leaking during refill.

@Dieter. On the 3.1 when top filling only catch the thread on the top cap then flip it upside down to tighten then top cap otherwise then juice get forced under pressure into the chamber and floods.

Judas' tip is the method I used to do with the older models and it worked well for me too.
    **Updated**
Typical wicking I use. 3mm ID coil placed a little higher above airhole than I normally do to see what difference there might be. She's wicking and performing great. No leaky and no dry hits.

After using an air blower to puff out the ends of the wick:
    coil1.jpg

Cutting down sides of wick. Did this to both ends of the wicks and both sides of each:
    coil2.jpg

    After one side is completed:
    coil4.jpg

After both sides done I gently bring the sides of each end of the wick close together so it looks like this:
    coil5.jpg

Now I cut away some wick from the bottom of each end of the wick:
    coil6.jpg

Here is how it looked mostly finished and another puff from the blower. I ended up cutting away just a little more from the right side wick near the bottom where it looks thicker:
    coil7.jpg

Next two pics she's juiced and length adjusted to just lay a little bit on the deck. Sorry for the blurry shot.

    She's all done:

I just refilled my Kayfun 3.1 @judas and @Scratchy using the tip from Judas and wow, no leaking whatsoever. Give me a complete new way to look at the Kayfun 3.1. Thank you so much, I'm a very happy vaper at this time . :)
