Looking for good/better 18650 batteries

I would be very suspicious. No such thing as a 5000 mah 18650. Candlepower forums has tested the claim of 5000 mah on many different batteries and have never come close. There are some 3400 and 3600 mah 18650 batteries out there but not suitable for vaping. So far the LG HG2 is the highest at 3000 mah but some testers are starting to dispute that as well.

 

No, no,,, I believe it all,,, Just right now, is all I have,, and it truly never seems to get above room temp,,, but yes,, is NOT correct for this use,,,, Thanks all.

Any suggestions on some place to re-solder the wires in my eGo One batteries?,,, I'm sure it'll fix them,, The vendor kept telling me, "Can't drop, can NEVER drop, like cell phone",,, Ya well I've dropped my cell many times,, and NEVER, EVER has a wire broke off,,,, lolol...

 

Sony VTC4 working fine for me in subox mini. My personal decision, is I only buy brands I've heard of and from reputable vendors. Incidentally whilst doing research I noticed eVic mini recommended battery is Sony VTC4, and form factor of that mod is virtually identical to subox mini.

 

As has been said before, BIN IT NOW. Every bloodied face in a Tabloid article had a cheapo battery that worked "OK". Until it went BANG.

As an aside. I've had a flashlight with a 18650 battery since long before I started vaping. Always charged it with the USB cable. No problems, but now changed the OE battery for a Sony. Just in case, since it lives under my pillow, and the kids play with it in the garden.

I'd like to add Efest purple to the list of good batteries. Tienga has them.

 

I have used them in the past. Problem is that they are all rewraps and so although they apparently are ok in general there is no way to be sure what you are getting. They also tebnd to overstate the mAh and amp rating of the batteries which is misleading in the least and dangerous at the worst.

Beware that there are fake LG HG2 being distributed in Thailand and through the network of various shops. I discovered this from a local supplier here who was stunned when I told him they were fake. He said the main guy he got them through insisted they were genuine and he took him for his word.

Differences versus originals:

1. Brown color of the wrap a different tint
2. About a 1 mm or 2 mm taller
3. Had different ridge pattern around the upper edge
4. The battery casing seam at the bottom was at a slightly different height
5. The wrap seam running up and down was a bit sloppy and slightly raised
6. The white ring at the cap area was very narrow compared to original
7. The raised cap itself was slightly wider than the originals.

 

Just to add that I am not saying all shops are carrying the fakes. Just be aware and check any you buy. It's not difficult to find lots of decent quality images online to compare to. I did that as well as compared them to originals I already had in hand. They could have been decent enough batteries but I didnt want to risk it so I got my money back. The shop owner was really nice about it.

Had to "recover" them from trash bin on my phone. Original is on left in all or majority of these images.
