1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

Looking for good/better 18650 batteries

I get these MKJ IMR 2500 mAh 35A from a shop in MBK on the fourth floor (right at the non-mobile phone end of the floor) called Camping. They sell mostly electronic goods such as flashlights, go-pro style HD cams, etc.

Facebook: www dot facebook dot com slash Camping dot Shop dot MBK (sorry, I'm not allowed to post links yet)

The owner is knowledgeable about mod requirements and battery safety.

MKJ...unknown brand & unknown cell under the wrap...wouldn't vape them! YMMV

They may be fine but why take a chance when you can get genuine Samsung and LG batteries??

FWIW, they look a lot like Efest Purples (probably on purpose) with the same (too high) 35 amp rating. There are no 35 amp continuous discharge (vaping) batteries at present....Sony VTC4 is the closest at a tested 30 amps continuous discharge.
    :vaping: :vaping:

    PS: :welcome:

Agreed that well known brands are better. According to the manufacturer spec sheet, these batteries are 10C (25A) rated for continuous discharge and 20C (50A) rated for max discharge. The company is ISO 9001 certified and the batteries are CE rated.

Here's the spec sheet page (in chinese, so use google translate). Perhaps someone knowledgeable could scan it and give an opinion as to whether these batteries are any good: www dot jcmkj dot cn slash yzxldc slash 2015 slash 0203 slash 338 dot html

That must have been painful to type out! ;)

Unless I saw some independent tests, I wouldn't consider them. Interestingly, they have a Sony VTC5 'look alike' as well as 'look alikes' for other well-known brands...looks like a Chinese company trying to cash in on the vaping scene.

When I went to that link, the datasheet indicates that it's only rated for 720 mAh and 14 amp discharge...wondered if they attached the wrong sheet? Sounds more like an 18350...and the internal impedance is higher than you'd see in other well-known brands.

Saw these batteries for sale in Pattaya in a bar when I was down there along with what appeared to be a genuine Kanger Top box and tank. The guy going around with them appeared to think that 3300B was a good price for the Kanger with battery. Didn't seem too happy when I told him it was way too expensive as it is available for around 2600 from Big. lol

Basically look out. these batteries are showing their face on the streets of Patts.

An ISO certification of a company in China is worth the value of a sheet of used toilet paper, regardless they make milk powder or batteries.

After the decidedly negative response to these batteries from forum members I went out and acquired three Samsung 25Rs and three Sony VTC5s from Tienga :)

In defence of my two Efest purples, it does say discharge current 20A/35A, so 20A continuous. But I'll go with informed opinion and keep them for backups.
