    Two words: THE CLOUD.

While I do have a hard backup (two, actually), my primary drive for my computers is in the cloud. As long as I have internet, I am set.

V, really sorry to hear that...another strap break?
This is the way to go these days...or get a couple of 64 or 128 GB USB sticks and keep the important stuff on these...

    Back up late last night..
Ended up running around (well driving shit loads) all day Sunday and got no where fast...missed all day at work cos of it..
Anyway, in the end getting so pissed off I bought a 500 G hard drive to get me going again and installed the OS via the net backup you have with Mac....

After I finally got up and running last night I decided to get myself a SSD which will arrive I am hoping by Thursday, then I can do the install again of the OS and then get to setting back up my Mac book the way I like it....

I'm a lazy sod so can't be doing with too many things...
But I had installed the Google Drive last time, so still had a lot of stuff on there, however again being lazy I hadn't used it so lost a lot of work over the last 5 months..
Now I have made some custom folders and will make sure everything will be kept in them for the future...

    Yep...my own fault...

Nope, I woke up and had 2 things I wanted to do, go for a piss and check the net.
If I had gone for a piss first then I don't think what happened would have happened as I would have been more awake, but instead I reached down from the bed to pick up the Macbook out of the bag and it slipped out of my hand and bounced left and right...

Also even though I was warned to turn it off at night, I never do, so the HHD was still kind of working, not fully shut off....which doesn't help when you drop it..

I just need to keep with the google drive i think, works great as long as I don't get lazy..

Also with the SSD the dropping shouldn't be too much of a problem in the future...well not as bad as if I was still using a HDD....

My computer is set up so everything I save automatically gets saved in Google Drive. Twice a year I do make a redundant back-up, just to be sure.

You can pickup 2TB portable drives from Banana IT (Tuckcom) for about 1250.00 Baht. Then you should be running your time machine at least weekly.. one of the nice things with the Mac is all you need to do is plug the drive in and it will handle the rest.
