1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

Just had to check some figures. According to my signature, I've saved 12700 baht in 88 days since I totally stopped stinkies. If I still lived in England and smoked duty paid factory stinkies, (I didn't of course, smuggled Golden Virginia), I would have saved between 85,000B and 94,000B in the same period. One B&H in England is only a gnats short of 100 baht!

Yes, I know how it looks, and you are probably still saving money, but give it time and encourage the obsession and it can take over.
It's approaching 5 years of Vaping, in my case, and definitely for the first couple of years it was a saving, especially since we had gone back to UK for 11 months when I first got into E Cigs and was paying over £5 a pack for UK Cigs, and even after returning to Thailand at end of 2011, I was still saving money, but then all these new developments appeared what with Sub-Ohm tanks, VaporShark Mods, and so on, it didn't take long before my saving money mantra began to sound a little hollow- if you are very strict with yourself, and get into mixing your own E Liquids, you will probably continue to save money, all I am saying is that for me, the savings ceased a while back.
Best of luck, though, I'm sure it's very possible. Resist the pull of the new and shiny.

Back in the day my friend, I loved the fact I only had to pay 80-90 baht for a pack of Marlboro when I was on holiday in LOS. Just be thankful you're not buying stinkies here in Australia. When I gave up 80-odd days ago, a packet cost about 600 baht and that was one of the cheap brands! On top of that the Australian Government is planning to increase the cost of a packet to about 1,000 baht by the year 2018. For what it's worth, I started vaping purely because of the cost and have NEVER been tempted in the slightest to light up since. Just not interested as long as I have my VV pen with me. Truly enjoy and prefer the vape over the cigs. Good luck with deciding what to get, I'm sure you'll make the right decision.

Good to see another Aussie on the forum.

I didn't start vaping because of cost, it was health reasons. I wasn't far off the permanent oxygen tank. Going by the thing at the bottom of my post I have saved over 71,600B, I have spent less than 20,000 on vaping.

I must say that this forum and the members have been a big help for me, plenty of good advice.
I don't buy YET from overseas suppliers, my only suppliers so far have been Micky, Mr Big and Tienga. I am not into blowing clouds or buying new fancy equipment all the time, I just want to stay off the stinkies.

I have an Irish mate in BKK, last week he called me 3 times to tell me the price of stinkies had gone up.........I Don't Care!!!

Now Baz you may be able to help??
What is the law now regarding vaping & devices in Australia?
I might go back for a visit, last time was 2011, no doubt I would see some changes especially with prices. Living in Thailand we seem to get away from reality in our home country's.

    Cheers

I've spent 2 years' worth of cigarette money in Thailand in 3 months on mods and tanks and stuff. I'm addicted to it! But I'd spend 10 times more in a year if I had to go back to my FINE country of Oz...

Hahaha well lets just say the "125 baht for cigarette is way to expensive" is because of how we smokers are just so used to buying a pack of cigarette with 100baht note. Nowadays we have to pay with at least 2 bank notes or even 3 (100baht note and 2 20 baht notes) and i think this is too troublesome for me.

But yeah i have already spent over 10k in the past 3 weeks for mods, rta and e juices.. lol

Money isnt really a problem its just ... im not used to buying a pack of cig with more than 1 note. And right now im more like a hybrid... smoking and vaping at the same time...lol

Happy songkran in advance guys ><[IMG]

Nice Mod, nasty cigs- but, however you get there- even if you're really just cutting down, it's a benefit, one day you'll kick them out.
Good luck, and Happy and Safe Songkraan to all.

Not sure, but I seem to recall hearing somewhere around 80 baht, but I could be well off the mark.

I'm not sure on L&M but I did take note that Marlboro and other "premium" brands were 125 baht at the 7/11 today.

Last I heard, Marlboro Ice Blast / Arctic Black (those fancy one with menthol pellet in the filter/butt) is around 180 something. I quitted when it was still around 135 @ 7-11 I think.
