    Headline
Travel warning Thailand: Bangkok police accelerate random visitor urine tests, searches, interrogations on western tourists and expats

Has anyone from Bangkok experienced anything like this recently? Sounds scary...

I experienced the search, not the urine test.

Though I start to hear about that around me quite often.

Did they give any reason why they were doing it? Did you have your vape gear with you?

    No and no.

They do not need a reason. Any "suspicious behavior/attitude" is enough to search you and it is up to them to determine how suspicious you are. So you cannot actually refuse.

My mod was in motorcycle glove compartment and they did not check there.

I would pack everything in checked luggage as far as possible. Batteries are special...it depends on the regulations of the airlines, particularly if you're talking about separate batteries (e.g., an 18650). Mods with built-in batteries may be allowed in checked luggage...most airlines post info on Li-ion batteries on their websites.
    Safe travel to LOS.
