The more I look at the size of the D2 the more I think it may not be for me which means I can no longer lust after the Stratum. Looks too small for my manly hands ;) The istick 50w is a perfect size in regards to stealthy for me and this is a lot smaller looking.

Mine, if it ever arrives may well end up in the classifieds but I'll give it a go first.

Reading on Reddit that the IPV D2 does not appear to have step down in power mode and even the user manual confirms it.
This from Reddit: Just started playing around with the D2 I got in the mail today. Kind of a bummer, but it doesn't seem to do step-down in power mode. With a 0.343Ω coil 7W should do absolutely nothing, but it seems to hit as above my normal comfort of 30-35W for the Zephyrus which is about 40W at 3.7V. Switched to Joule Ni mode (the resistance/temp table should matter with Kanthal) with temp set to 500F+ just to make sure TC doesn't kick in, 10J does very little. Adjusted to 35J, it hits as it should.

A look at advertised specs shows the same:

Since I don't do much (any?) subohming, it doesn't bother me that it doesn't step down in power mode.

Not a deal breaker for me but I don't like it when a board is firing at 50w but displaying 7w.
