Same thing with IPV mini 2 and several other mods. Outside of sometimes wanting to lightly pulse coils with a new build, it's never been an issue for me. I no longer use attys that cannot handle the decently high voltages and with most all my builds I'm always right at or quite close to max unregulated voltage anyway.

I don't get it, if it hasn't got step down, it might at least be capable of PWM. But if it fires down to 3.6V then isn't it a step down ( (a no step down would be 4.2v, no ?)

That means the lowest you can go on power mode is 3.6V which would only be an issue to non sub-ohms vapers (for being over powered). In sub-ohms we are all already way above that anyway.

Or did I understood this completely wrong ?

Depends on the individual I suppose.

Well in this case it's not up to the individual but to the spec of the machine. From what I understand, if it is capable of firing at 3.6V, doesn't it mean it does step down ?

I just feel you want to bash this mod just because it says P4Y but could be my Monday morning effect so I have no desire to step into this any longer :)

Actually, 3.6 volts at 0.5 ohms is almost 26 watts (and at 0.2 ohms, it's 65 watts)...that would be too high for me because I prefer a cool vape so this affects the subohmers more IMO...hope my Ohm's law calculator is working right this morning...time for more caffeine. :p

Not at all, I'm not a fanboy of anything and try to judge each everything on it's individual merits regardless of who it's made by.
The 3.6v minimum is not an issue for me personally but I guess it would be for a lot of people.

Not sure why it can offer 1-7v in Joule mode but not in Power mode.

This was the perfect mod for me, cheap, small, silicone sleeve, decent power, temp control. I just know they will release an updated version and have been burned by P4Y before like that.

Speaking to personal preferences, I like a warmer vape so 26 watts with a 0.5 ohm is easy and 35 watts @ 4.2 usually just fine...that is if I have a good coil and wicking. Think st mini gen 1 occ coil where 35 watts could lead to burnt hits. I think SD may be right where lower sub ohm setups can be more negatively affected, especially for those that do not like warmer vapes or using coils or wicks that cannot keep up.

Not sure about the 3.6 spec and if that means it's the lowest it can regulate in power mode or what. If no buck capabilities that would suggest the battery voltage would have to be equal to or lower than that number for regulation to take place. So, for example if your battery remaining voltage is at 3.4 v and the lowest voltage output is 3.6 it boosts the power to meet that and it can boost it even more if you set voltage higher. Gets iffy boosting higher when battery voltage is low because of the stress and additional drain on the battery.

I'm no expert with the power stuff and am basing things how I like to vape and understood things I read before. I'd like to learn more and if I'm misunderstanding would appreciate being corrected!

I finally got a chance to see the D2 in person at Vapex Int'l this past weekend. It's really small, about the same size as a VS DNA 30/40. Thought about buying one but decided to wait until they arrive at one of our local suppliers in case there are issues with it. FWIW, they were selling at the meet for MYR 200, or about ฿1,700. And, the package includes the silicone sleeve!

Got one in my hand in France, really nice looking mod, great feeling. Overprice in the land of my ancestors but for 1,700THB, it's a steal IMO.

I almost bought it...but my P4Y IPV Mini II had chip surge issues so I wanted to be able to get this one fixed (or exchanged) locally in case something similar came up. Hope they show up here soon...

I'm embarrassed to admit I got one on my last day in the States. :peep:

Works very well and the size is great. Small but has some nice heft. Cons? The same stupid P4Y black paint issue. Like the black IPV4S here, some of the paint around the 510 area has chipped/flaked off. At least it cannot be seen.

The silicon wrap is sort of a nuisance when swapping out batteries. You need to roll or pull it all the way off and then when putting back on it wants to grab and pull down the battery cover. The Sigelei 75W silicon case is so much better.
