1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

I snuck a few puffs in at Ploen Chit, right at the BTS station and in front of La Monita's. I was "stealthy*." Out here in the sticks, we all (Thai and foreigners) vape in public. But we all are careful.

    Hi,
Few informations (not so good) about the possible future of vaping in LOS ("s" doesn't have to be smile) in
Anti-smoking drive features tobacco tax hike | Bangkok Post: news

"The ministry also announced it will introduce tougher regulations on electronic cigarettes from the middle of the year. [...]
Meanwhile, the head of Chulalongkorn University's Drug Dependence Research Centre, Jitlada Areesantichai, said there was no evidence to support the popular belief that smoking electronic cigarettes can help wean a person off smoking conventional cigarettes."
After making this post I saw that there was a thread about this article. Couldn't find the way to delete this post.

Dude, the amount I bring in and out of Thailand (value-wise) is huge. I was not bothered at all when I entered Thailand with three mechs, two chargers, 18 batteries, and 500 ml of juice. It's all in how you pack it.

Do you just pack everything in your suitcase or put it in your hand luggage?
When you say its all in how you pack it, how do you pack it?

Box mods become power banks. Mech mods turn into flashlights. Bottled juice becomes toiletries. It's all in the semantics. IMO, entering is easy. Leaving can be harder.

Well thats me back in Thailand for good, retired from this overseas working malarkey and as you might imagine i had a hella-lot of gear at my work residence, Normally i do not worry too much carrying a mod, juice and a couple tanks/coils in and out, but I would be lying if i said wasn't a little concerned this time with pretty much my full operation, 3 mods, 10 batteries, battery charger, 6 tanks and RDAs 200ml of juices around 50 pre-made coils, a coil master builders kit, 2 ohm meters, 5 bags of cotton and 4 spools of wire, Thankfully i got it all back into LOS without a problem, mostly in my checked luggage but one mod, all batteries and 20ml of juice in my carry on. I did not stop in BKK though, my luggage was checked all the way through to my final destination. Maybe this helps, maybe it doesn't but I'm happy.

    Vape on.

seems wise to be discreet about vaping in public, transporting a lot, and selling, but no need to sweat using at home.

I know nothing about this quote but considering who owns the tobacco rights in Thailand nothing would surprise me. These are people of the highest level in the Kingdom who will do anything to protect their turf.

...which we know is not true. There's an ongoing discussion in LOS about e-cigs...

Flew out of Udon (and then Don Muang) yesterday, and during security in Udon, was asked to remove my mod (not attached to anything and without any batteries) from my check in luggage and put it in my carry on. Was obviously a little confused, but did it anyway... I figured as long as there wasn't a fine or confiscation involved I'd just comply. During the second security check, I just stuffed my mod into my small pouch which housed all my cables/chargers, and security didn't say a word.

In Don Muang, things became a little clearer. There seem to be new airline regulations? Pictures included. To be safe, I separated my gear as usual except for my mod which I left in the cable pouch mentioned earlier... tank/tools in my check in... and again no issues.

TLDR: Airport now wants you to keep vapes in hand luggage.

    1) At Udon check in baggage scan was the only place I was verbally told to put the mod into hand carry.
    2) At Don Muang, there are numerous signs as you go through the check in process that say DO NOT put your vape in check in luggage as you can see from the photos - guess what your remaining option to put your vape in is?
