1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

You bought it at the night market...perfectly understandable that there would be no receipt, and this happens all the time so they are already conditioned to accept this as a response.
Whether it makes any difference or not, it's what I would say...possession is not a crime, only illegal importation.

I'm just interested to know, how you know possession is not a crime any more? I'm not arguing just keen to know what the actual facts are.

I mean, on one hand we are being advised not to Vape in the open, but surely if it's not a crime to possess these devices, where's the problem?

I'm a member of a couple of Thai FB vape groups...they cover this almost daily in there. IF possession were now a crime, it would be trumpeted to high heaven in the local English media. :)

PS - possession has never been a crime...

Since when has that ever stopped the BiB...that's just a minor inconvenience...they're on a mission to keep the TTM coffers safe (logic doesn't apply here)... :(

If you get caught in public, they're still gonna try to get their tea money contribution. If you refuse/push it and go to court (which most people won't, they know), you'll get written up for illegal importation & fined accordingly when you come before a judge.

I've seen this progression on the FB groups...the Thais are royally p*ssed off at the high-handed extortion being practiced by the BiB, especially when there are no laws against possession. They accept that there are always contributions to be made to the policmen's benevolent fund, it's the size of the contributions being required in this case, which has got everyone up in arms. ;)

    There's that 'grey area' again.
We got our flight back out of here in a few days; bring it on.

I never thought I would be singing the praises of UK legislation, but.... Over there, people are walking down the streets blowing clouds ( not something I condone, since it's bound to annoy, but it's not illegal)
The statistics are showing that more, and more, smokers are quitting and turning to Vape devices. It really seems like we're winning, over there.

About this raid in Kanchanaburi and I quote:

"He was peddling his drugs to users through the Line application and a website".

    WTF???

Incidentally one of my vendors does not use the Line app...since he said conversations can be tapped/tracked by the BiB

The guy in Kanchanaburi got busted by the "Special Branch", so best be careful as they have the nations finest working to suppress this heinous crime.

Wow, it's unbelievable, they've really got their priorities confused.
How much money is the Thai Tobacco Industry (and it's 'shareholders') pumping into this purge??

For sure, this has absolutely nothing to do with the Health of the Nation.

Just returning to the Kanchanaburi 'bust'-- how the 'fook' did he manage to get $120K worth of 'evil' merchandise into this 'pure and untouched' Country, unless he had 'inside connections' who finally failed/turned on him???
Oh well, I give up-- something smells very fishy about this, and it's not the Nam Plah!

And their perceived idea of the finances of the offender. Farang, "Christmas" has come early. Maybe dress like a backpacker doing SE Asia on 300 baht a day, and carry a rucksack full of unwashed clothes.
