1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

@Sue - they're not looking specifically for vape gear...they're actually looking for people bringing in undeclared dutiable items, which is why it's unlikely they'll ever install body scanners! :)

One of the very good reasons that we don't use real names or allow the posting of personal information on this forum! :D

Now, back to the topic at hand...post up your inbound/outbound experiences through any of the airports here and/or any experiences dealing with the local constabulary (I hope no one has any of those!). ;)

I should add that I have just spent a week in Pattaya.

I was careful vaping everywhere, apart from main roads, with no issues.

I regularly go to the bar in the car park at the back of Mike's shopping centre (which they seem to be knocking down). There's a Thai guy that works in one of the food stalls there who blows the biggest plooms. He doesn't seem to care. There's also a traffic cop who calls in for a drink every night. I always wai him and he grins from ear to ear.
I saw quite a few Thais openly vaping in main streets.

In the British press last week, Public Health England were calling for vapes to be available on prescription from doctors. If that gets the ok, I wonder how Thai customs will deal with someone entering or exiting the country with prescribed vaping equipment?

It’s a forbidden item here irrespective of whether you have a prescription for it somewhere else. They’d probably seize it & send you on your way (if they found it). There’s a similar situation in Dubai (I think) with certain prescription pain killers...if they catch you, you’re in for a long explanation even if you have the script with you (and how many people actually do that). ;)

    Yeah, probably.

It would be a good argument for not locking you up though.

Unless you have a boatload of stuff (clearly for selling), they won’t lock you up IMHO...you can’t spend any $$$ here if you’re in the clink! :D

Have we heard from Ninja? I hope no report does not mean he is in prison.

Entered Krabi on an international flight. No problems. No bag scan, but there were customs officials at the scanners.
I will report tomorrow on my international departure experience at Krabi.
    Thanks for the concern. :)

Presuming this was inbound, this is perfectly normal since you're clearing Customs...or was something different this time?

No, nothing different. Just bored looking chaps by the scanners.

    Successful international departure from Krabi.
Drip tip removed from tank. Tank placed in liquids bag. 3 mods and drip tip placed in a little pouch along with phone charger, cables and various other chargers.

Here's a ray of sunshine: I'm spending the weekend watching the Motogp testing in Buriram (no, I didn't get the media accreditation). Lots of vapers around both foreign and domestic without so much as a sideways glance from the BiB.

I want to believe it's a ray of sunshine... but the pessimist and conspiracy theorist in me thinks that the BiB was told to stand down (by some unknown person in charge) because clamping down on vapers at a major international event with huge numbers of international press present wouldn't be good for the $$$ in amounts that might be comparable to Big Tobacco contributions.
