Proposed Thai Laws for Vaping in Thailand

It has always been about the tax and nothing more. Because of the stiff penalties it has given the Bib a new opportunity to extort money in large sums. They never miss any such chance. I have not actually heard about anyone jailed for this offense alone. Still, the threat is enough to give them juice.

Made it out of LOS without any difficulties. Packed my hardware the same way as I did previously. Due to a delay in my flight, my window in DMK conveniently overlapped with @centella4u AKA Ace Vaper, and we both sat down and had a good vape/drink/chat at Bill Bentley before my next flight. According to him, the whole bit in the news where security suddenly became tight and vapers were being looked at closer was mainly because somebody new joined the customs/taxes department and wanted to know what all the fuss was about - this caused customs/security in some airports (mainly DMK) to tighten up when it came to vapers. Things have since gone back to normal - pack your mods safely and you will most likely not be singled out.

My next stop (in a few days) is the Netherlands... and I must be absolutely honest and say it's so refreshing to go somewhere that I'm not worried in the least about vaping openly. Thus, I'm not even going to bother posting about security and customs when I go in/out

 

I fly around the world for a living.
The only places I have to worry about are Thailand and bizarrely, Cancun Mexico. I fly through Dubai regularly, on my way to and from Thailand. They haven't pulled me for vape stuff yet, although they did once ask to see my usb charger thing with wires hanging out of it.

As we've said before, airport security are checking for things you aren't allowed to take onto aeroplanes.....and when you arrive somewhere pass through customs with your vape stuff in your pockets, not in your bags. They will only search your person if they think you might have contraband.

 

You missed Singapore.

 

Thankfully we don't fly there! Haha

 

I flew from Thailand to Singapore for the weekend last weekend. Vaped a bit more stealth than I would have liked but still fairly openly no issues at all. Either on the street or at the airport.

I think this thread needs its title changed to something like "Travelling with vape gear." Not much about Thai vape law on here now!

 

I would be more careful with Singapore than with LOS in regards Vaping.In Singapore once I went out on the Ports terminal with my mod in the pocket and I was pulled aside and adviced e- cigs are forbidden in Singapore. They let me go because I was going straight back to the Ship and I was in my working uniform but they adviced if I would go and visit the city I should keep my e-cig on the Ship which I did later on.

Couple days ago flying out of Swampy with my mod in the hand carry and no problem. Same when coming back. No check, no problems. Lucky...

E-Cigarettes Could Soon Be Legal In Thailand

 

As yesterday was the 1st and article was published today, this may be a indeed be a glimmer of hope. I'm forever the optimist.

Strangely, the ecig vendors on Sukhumvit have suddenly appeared again after a 2 month absence - perhaps things are looking up after all!!

 

Successful entry into Phuket a couple of days ago. All vape stuff in my pockets.
Some passengers were having their bags scanned, the crew was waved straight through.
