1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

The bottom line is since there are no taxes paid it is therefore, illegal.

"Sirirat said that while there is actually no law forbidding the possession of E-cigarettes they fall into a category of goods that have not had tax levied on them and their possession therefore is illegal. Offenders could face five years jail or a fine of four times the value of the goods or both jail and fine.

The importation, sale and production for sale of E-cigarettes is also illegal with offenders liable to 10 year sentences for production and sale and a fine of five times the value of the goods or both. This law has been on the statute since December 2014."

I wonder how much tax revenue they'll receive with meth?

Same as other countries they'd rather make money than seeing people healthy I am not surprised but I'm sure pissed.

Remember all this is just another way to extract baht from tourist and expats. They want your money NOT you. Doubt anyone will do jail time over vaping just pay as you go fines.

Right...after a trip to the police station. Our member who got done (and who speaks Thai) spent about 2 hours there and still paid a sizeable sum. Remember, the fine is mandated as 4x the value of the illegally imported item. None of my good mods will be leaving the house! YMMV

Good thing I'm vaping on a 30$ mod, still better to leave the mod in the house than spending any amount of time with the BIB....

Just lay low, but if this gets stupid like jail time for vaping im moving back to Manila screw this place. The nasty druggies and ciggy smokers can have it.

Don't have much in the way of cheap mods, that's the problem...g/f uses an IPV D2 and I'll be taking my VS rDNA40. It's old but it wasn't cheap...but it was purchased before the ban in 2014! ;)

The oldest gear I have (excluding the ego and ciga-like) is Nautilus Mini. Anyone know when exactly was it released? Pre 2014 ban? If that's the case then I might have to go back to it when I'm out and about.

I'm sitting in UK, and get a call from the guy dealing with Shipping our Personal Effects out of Thailand, back to UK, and since there were E Cigs mentioned on the inventory, he's got scared and now wants to open up the boxes which contain anything E Cig related, and remove the items. What a PIA, now I need to ask another friend to store the items for me until I can decide what to do with them.
Real drag, since the shipment was supposed to leave CNX last week, but the shipper was lax, and now he's run into this legal hassle.
Just makes me realise why I left LOS.

Can't you tell him the law is about stuff entering and not leaving thailand? I suppose you already have….but thais being thais, I can guess the reply…."Kannot".
    **Updated**
"My best friends son was smoking an e-cigarettes when it exploded and took out all his front teeth and broke his jaw. Also, the battery shot across the room and caught the drapes on fire! He had to put out the drapes while bleeding while in extreme pain. So if health hazards don't bother you maybe a few missing teeth and a broken jaw may convince you."

LOL….I saw this on that thaivisa link….there's always some guy like this who has no idea how to operate a mod….the sort of shit that gives the anti-vaping mafia even more ammunition.

My guess is they won't give a flying f... of the date your device was released, that it was before or after the ban wont make much difference IMHO. You might have a case in front of a judge but I doubt anyone on this forum is willing to go to such lenghts...
