1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

I got one from FT, full version that is, and I too have to say this is probably the easiest atty to both coil and wick. Only used it with rayon but don't think that makes the big difference. I may have been incredibly lucky with the first build of course :)
Always build the same, 28ga wire on 2mm, around 1.10 - 1.20 ohm.

I actually have 4 of the erlkonigin (angelcigs had a clearance sale). 1 mini and 3 full size (I just got the mini kits from FT in the mail). I don't think it makes that much of a difference in terms of wicking. Really I agree with Jon here, one of the easiest to coil and easiest to wick.

I have the mini but I barely just made and installed my first coil (everything else pre coiled up until now). I fully admit it's due to my lack of skills.

I just found that even a poor coiling job will do the trick on the RDA, and the wicking is really hard to mess up. Add to that the best part is that you just have to take off the top and mess with it.
I think RTAs might be better for someone that has mastered RDAs as getting access to the coil is pretty annoying. Learning on it has been frustrating (other than not really worth my time personally although of course that's extremely subjective).

^^It just takes time and practice, like anything else. Drippers are a bit easier to coil than tanks, but once you've gotten the hang of it on one atty, there's really no atomizer you can't tackle.

So, some time has passed since my previous post. Sad to say, things haven't changed. Vaping is still a pain. I mentioned going to the US where I bought a 1000mA Kanger Evod eGo Twist Variable Voltage Battery. It didn't even last through the month I was there. *sigh*

What prompts this post is that (now back in Thailand) I just received a new GS EGO-II 2200mAh battery and a GS-H5 Clearomizer. This to -- hopefully -- replace my Aspire CE5-S Clearomizer with BDC coils, which, in my experience, are short lived and terribly inconsistent.

So, I fired up the new Ego battery and GS-H5 and was pleasantly surprised with the result. Alas, within a few minutes the gurgling began and I was getting that nasty taste of unvaporized juice. Well, shoot. Another failed combination. I might note here that my favorite clearomizer, the one I personally found to be the longest lasting and most satisfying was the iClear16, so I'm not an "impossible to please" consumer. Unfortunately my supplier (and his) no longer stock the replacement coils.

So, here's my conclusion: Either I'm a very unlucky guy or, more likely, the vaping industry is still in it's infancy and the manufacturing processes are still maturing. This, coupled with less than strict quality control, makes vaping a hit or miss proposition.

Maybe, based on replies to my earlier posts, it's the former. I might be the guy the light turns yellow on, y'know?

But I have bought a couple packs of cigarettes in the past week or so. They're just so damn easy to work.

But, as Siam Diesel says: YMMV. Sage words indeed.

Oh, one last note: While I appreciate the replies recommending rebuildables, I just don't have the motivation. Mainly because I don't think my think my poor eyes are up to the task and I'd hate to have that confirmed!

Your problem seems to be with your choices.

Have you tried a Nautilus / Nautilus Mini? If not grab yourself one and a small box mod, such as an iStick 40TC.

+1. The mod and atty choices aren't real great. The Ego cigalike battery mods aren't a very good choice. You need to get a mod that uses a full 18650 battery. Regulated box mod is a good choice, or even a mechanical 18650. Just make sure it uses an 18650. You will never get a real "great" vape out of an ego style battery. Even the vv Ego style batteries only go up to 4.7 volts (IIRC), so you can't crank up the power levels. I gave up on clearomizers years ago. I guess I can understand that it looks complicated which scares some people off. But really, it isn't that hard and if you figure out how to make a coil, you have ALL atomizers mastered. Even with clearomizers there are better ones than the ones you chose.

I second what @Rick O-Shea says...grab yourself a Nautilus or N-Mini or 2, a couple of boxes of replacement BVC coils and a smallish box mod with an integral battery (unless you want to mess with replaceable batts) and retire the eGo to replacement status. If you really want a tube mod, then have a look at the eGo One (it comes in various sizes).

Part of the problem is that you're using oldish equipment...the vape experience with the newer (current) crop of mods/tanks is far superior.

Yes the ecig market is in it's infancy and quickly going thru generations of hardware and liquid. So your have to choose carefully but that means researching a bit which is time consuming.

Just my suggestion would be a kit like iJust2 or Ego One. You get everything sans eliquid. Both of these and the atom coils can be bought in TH. k. Big on this forum should have one of these. Don't expect the kit to last forever. I haven't owned any setup that lasted ... it will either break or I'll upgrade to something new, or I will just lose it in a taxi or bar. Stuff just happens

As pointed out, the stuff you mentioned came out I think over 2 years ago?

    you might consider purchasing-
    this complete kit-
eGo ONE Kit by Joyetech (1100mah.) | Thailand Vapers

    or this built-in tank device-
eGrip OLED V2 sold out | Thailand Vapers

or this kit-(need to buy a battery with this one)-
Subox Mini Kit | Thailand Vapers

    or this-
iStick 40W TC | Thailand Vapers
    and
Aspire Nautilus & Nautilus Mini | Thailand Vapers

All of these can also be found at fasttech, but will take much longer to get to you.

Whatever you buy, be sure to check-out some youtube video's on the product to be sure your using it properly.

I would bet that your vaping experience will satisfy you plenty with the equipment my fellow vapers have just advised.

Forget about these cheap low performing clearomisers. Get yourself a decent set up and you'll be in vaping heaven :)

    I'f I may add my 2 cents....
I too had my issues with my first few tries. Coils dry burning and nasty hits.... crappy coils and stuff just breaking. It was frustrating. Luckily, someone pointed me to the Aspire nautilus. This tank literally changed everything for me. It doesn't need any special batteries or anything. I run it on a simple little mechanical mod with an 18350 battery at times. My suggestion would be to get the full size Nautilus, a pack of the "BVC" coils and an Istick 30w or 40w. Heck, I tell you what.... you go get the Nautilus and Coils and I will send you my Istick 30. Keep in mind there are knockoffs out there. The knockoff coils suck bad. Find a reputable supplier that will give you the real thing. Make sure they are BVC coils not bdc. Buy it from Big's here and it'll ship right to your door : Aspire Nautilus & Nautilus Mini | Thailand Vapers
Should you decide to get it, let me know and give me your address in a private message.

LMAO...no brainwashing required...IMO, it's still the best MTL tank using pre-made coils out there. ;)
