Was about to pull the trigger on an evic vtc mini and now this mini pops up. And I see it does stainless steel temp control.

Did the large xcube have issues?

I have only seen the Cube II 160W and the M80 locally.

I guess the Mini should be there soon.

Design looks great on this and the choice of coil heads, but melting O-rings and high costs of coil heads might make this a non starter. As time goes on I'm getting lazy and so I'm looking for tanks with the option of cheap replicable heads.

250thb for a triple coil head, not cheap but worth it for me as this tank is alone in his category. i haven't vaped anything close to it.

Scratchy mentioned melting o-rings too. I guess only at ridiculously high wattages?

    *edited in question mark ;)

I came across more than a couple/few reports of the melted o-rings across different forums and product feedback pages. I lost interest in the tank so haven't seen more about it. My impression is that problem is not from overly aggressive wattage settings. Seem to recall one report where someone bought a new one and found the orings already melted?

It's more a stupid and needless annoyance in making customers do that than the added cost. I think one of the 2 updates is $0.49. I got both updates. Why Smok did such a stupid thing is beyond me.

The o ring of the base on mine was indeed silghtly melted, exactly what occured in RIP video review of the TFV4.

However I am using this everyday at 90-100W and I have yet to experience any leaking or issues whatsoever.

There is an extra o ring for the base in the box.

I think the rubber they use for that particular o ring is too soft, but it is more of a detail they should be careful than a problem that should be taken seriously IMO.

@Scratchy you have to try to put your hands on one, I bet my socks you are going to say "wow"! :)

The charge is very small indeed so, as you point out, why even levy it. That kind of annoyance can be a deal breaker for some. With my somewhat suspicious mind I hope it's not a case of them testing the waters before applying increased charges for updates. Thanks for the clarification scratchy.

For both Ti and SS the update is a buck fifty... I'm sure there is a cost involved with the updates and apps. Maybe it was an afterthought to them and they hadn't realized the cost beforehand. Regardless, I wish they would have rolled it into the cost of the mod in the first place. This just opens all sorts of doors going forward that seem kind of scary..... pay per puff mods..... taxed per puff mods.... ughhh. I hope it doesn't catch on. I'm interested in the mini though and would grab one even if I have to pay an extra 2 dollar for SS.
