1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

Try to get a bottle of 6mg and see what s does for you. Between 6 and 12mg is difficult to find. Unless you buy one btl of 6 and one btl of 12 and you mix them to roughly get a 10mg..

I doubt it is the PG, it gives a crispier sensation indeed but the cough is, IMO, the nic level. It also could come from the fact you are not used to it yet as you are still switching with cigarette.

Make a smoker try to vape for the first time, even with low nic, he'll cough most of the time.

I say unless you're getting dizzy of nausea when you vape, the nic level isn't an issue. Your throat will get use to it (that's waht I tell them..^^) but don't drop the nic too fast as it won't satisfy your need and you'll end up caring for a cigarette again.

COngrats on your tomorrow decision, we are all on your side, bro.

Wish you the best of luck with that !

What kind of juice are you looking for ? Dessert/Tobacco/Fruit/Menthol oriented ?

For the cough, it could indeed be the nic level or the PG. Not sure what your build looks like but if you are using a low-ohm build with some high PG juice at 12 mg nic, that could be the cause too !

Little trick, get some VG (suthep road, there is a shop) and mix it with your juice. Taste will be softer... But higher VG and lower nic level. That's what i do.

    Cheers

I cannot take menthol, I prefer those with dessert kind I guess. At this time I am using the Five Pawn Lucena which gives kind of castard/vanilla taste.

Done with my last stich of ciggie this morning. Will try not to think about them and keep on vaping.

No, I am not getting any dizziness from vaping. At least not yet.

I am considering getting kayfunv4 (if there is stock) and istick50. they look nice. Looking through the shops, man.... they all look so nice............

A Kayfun and an iStick should be a great set up indeed. I haven't tried the KF4 but I had the K+ and the Russian, if I successfully stopped smoking, I owe it to this tank.

Many shinny things in the shop, don't worry, the temptation will fade away.

...In two years and even then, just slightly..

Yeah, right...when does that happen? :D

@Xilver - don't be afraid to grab a bottle of high nic juice (16-18mg) as well...sometimes you just need that extra little bit of nic to keep you from reaching for a stinkie! Like Tibo, I think the coughing will pass in time. Maybe try taking smaller, more frequent mouth-to-lung hits and see if that helps...

Kayfun 4 is a great flavor tank but I'd still suggest getting at least one tank with ready-made coils (did I mention I like the Nautilus ) so you're not stuck needing to recoil/rewick when you're dying for a vape.

Best of luck with quitting the stinkies!

PS - @Mack's Cinnamon Roll is really really tasty...

Regarding coughing, there are many factors that could be causing coughing:

    1. You are still smoking, when I smoked and vaped close in time it felt uncomfortable, not sure why, but I don't do that much obviously now that I stopped the cigarettes

    2. You just quit, you lungs are cleaning, you may be coughing up some nasty stuff, that is normal for your lungs to start recovering. May feel a little crappy but should pass soon enough

    3. The vapor isn't usually super comfortable when you first start. However, you do seem to get accustomed to it fairly quickly, maybe even quicker than to smoking.

    Some tips:
Drink a lot of water, in the beginning the vapor will make your throat feel dry, it will help to drink water while vaping. Also make sure to drink extra water as the vapor dehydrates you (this is extra important with the weather now). Also, a cough drop/candy while vaping will affect the test but feels more comfortable on the throat.
--> PS the drinking water/candy during vaping helps the throat in the beginning, but after a month or two of vaping I didn't need it and it stopped irritating me at all.

    1. Could be that the lungs try to recover, but then you gave them a dose shit again with the cigarette and so on. 2. I guess that is what is xilvers problem. I dont have any problem with the nicotine level as much that i have with the PG level. I have to aim for 50PG/50VG of higher VG.

Switching between the two really isn't easy. Over Songkran I bought some cigarettes so I didn't have to take my mod out with me. I think I made it through 2 of them and I just couldn't handle them. I'm sure I could if I smoked for a while and let my lungs adjust to that crap, but I just tossed the pack.

Well, a few pointers given are all quite good. For 1 thing, I had to drink a lot of water, almost every time I vape.

Did I make it through the day yesterday after my last cig in the morning? Yes and no.

I did not pick up and nor buy any cig. Through the day, I ALWAYS have the vape with me and I just use it often. No real urge to go and smoke. Felt aches around the body though and mood was just a little bit bad. But all under control and does seem like I can do better if I don't feel the aches.

Late last night, I was with a friend, who happen to start this vaping adventure with me, he says he now smokes only 2 cigs a day. 1 in the morning and 1 at night. He offered me a stick and I actually was quite reluctant to smoke it. However, I did light it and only took 3 puffs and stubbed it out.

    1. I realised the burning taste was not pleasant.
    2. I did not enjoy it.
    3. The vapor is nothing compared to the rda. Haha.. cloud is fun.
    4. I did tell myself i am going to give this a real shot in trying to quit.

So I contonued my vaping while my friend had his last cig for the night and I was teasing him how little vapor he has on the cig. LoL

That said. Today is Day 2. No cigs this morning and well, hopefully no big stress at work to push me back to ciggies. Hopefully i will vape instead if that does happen and hope vaping will replace my need to light up a ciggie. Somehow, I always think better or handle things better with a ciggie in hand.

Just hope for the best. : )

The desperate urge to fight a cigarette can often be overcome just by smoking (but don't buy any!).

In my experience, when you don't smoke for a while the experience isn't that great until a few later when everything is back to normal.

I gave up and didn't try a cigarette until about 3 months later, just one puff, it did nothing for me and tasted like shit.

all good advise above. the one thing i have not seen mentioned is:

Learn proper battery safety when using a mech! I dont think its ever a good idea for a newbie to use a mech mod. too much can go wrong. please watch some videos and read some of the forums that discuss the safety needed to operate these devises. learn about ohms law, amps, watts, volts, shorts, etc.

Great to hear you have quickly broken away from Cigs, keep up the good work! :vaping:

Agree wholeheatedly...and can't emphasize this enough! If you get it wrong, there is the real risk of injury...or worse.
