1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

The issue so I learned is not only with the electronics involved but also with the quality of the USB plug placed onto them. To separate the charging "port" from the USB alone is already an improvement. But I guess we are coming now into the nitty gritty that nobody really wants to know of.

    Which charger do you recommend?

There's not really a charger that I recommend. I was just making a point that any charging system can be good or bad. The fact that it's built in doesn't necessarily mean it's bad or just because it's a stand alone doesn't mean it's good. With that being said the Xtar line seems to get the best independent reviews when looking at the charger from all aspects. We are talking about the very technical things that most people don't really care about though. Nitecore and Efest also make some great (and not so great) chargers. Again in the technical details. The main thing that I would like to get across is that not all chargers are created equal (internal or external) and not to judge the quality of the charger based on where it resides.

I think they're both 5v 1A. I use my 2A Android chargers without issue (istick will only charge at 1A).

Important thing is that it's 5v which is the voltage level of USB. If I read what you're asking correctly, then yeah, that'd work.

FWIW, I'd definitely get into building your own coils. I got through a disposable one very quickly when I bought my first mech and realised I was gonna be spending a lot of money on them if I didn't start making my own. They're easy to clean so a home build lasts a lot longer and saves money. It's a lot of fun too
