1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

This just tells me I will never buy another clouper device again...they have no clue whats even going on...I bet the new firmware will turn those devices with the burned chips right back on!

They have no clue what they are doing whatsoever and they will kill someone eventually.

Ha-ha! Yeah the fried chips aint gonna be resurrected! Anyway, I am sure they were referring only to those that shut down, are now heating too quickly or otherwise hadn't been fried and they may not have yet decided what they will do for those whose devices did. Obviously whoever was tasked with creating the post was limited in English skills too.

Well, they are going to pay a price that's for sure both with any repairs and replacements and more importantly, many people like yourself not trusting them and thus losing future business. Kinda reminds me of when the Chinese city I lived in years ago had a scandal where it was discovered that many restaurants were recycling cooking oil or purchasing 3rd party recycled oil....1 or 2 weeks after the story broke I told my friend there was probably never a safer time to go out and eat food at those restaurants. Maybe this will put a good enough scare into Cloupor that they change the way they do things and future products will be much more rigorously tested and designed. Time will tell...

I have no doubt they will replace every device....my concern is over the speed in which they and others are dumping devices on the market...no testing...no nothing. Look at Innokin, they are taking their time and testing the products they sell, sure, there may be some bad units on release but I doubt they would have catastrophic failures.

It's the whole industry doing this now releasing high wattage boxes some as mechs and some regulated but the makers think since they hit the fire button and it didn't explode it's fine. I shouldn't have to pay a high price to be a guinea pig.

I just noticed yesterday that Pbusardo already got a new SVD 2 from Innokin. It was said that it was a proto type for testing, and if they send them out to the reveiwers first for a last test, I guess the final product will not be so bad. Still time to correct the issues the reviewers might find.

That's how it used to be a few years back, but then all the companies started just hitting them out without the proto types being sent out.
I think it's good if Innokin start doing this again....

    Anyone use more than 50w
    I think it's insane
I never get more than 50w with 0.3 ohm dripper

FWIW and sorry if alread mentioned.

subject 50w not on 3 ohms.

as you already know watts=(i^2)*r and also (v^2)/r (by definition through a resistance watts=voltage* current)

So with 10 volts , v^2 is 100 and the highest resistance that can give you 50w is 2 ohm (10^2/2). So the 3 ohm can only produce 33 watts. The max ohms that can give you 50w with 10 volts is 2 ohms.

I suspect the very low ohms are overdriving the electronics and hence they limit the current to below 50w.

So the sweet spot is some resistance below 2 which does not overdrive the electronics. As the reviewer reported ~.8-2 ohms or so?

but then what do I know? :no trust:

thanks for the heads up I'll simply not upgrade the software.

You said that you are close to Clouper and I thought maybe you would know about the update. I'm willing to overlook the fact that this device has a crooked 510 connector and that the screen is tilted, but it has a habit of just turning off and often when I try to shut it off with 5 clicks it will, but usually it won't. Same thing turning it on. I'm going through 3 batteries a day. Efest 2500mah 35Amp batteries. I use the device at under 20 watts. It will for instance be at 85% and 7 puffs later be at 78%. 1% per puff. It seems a shame that they are forgetting about this device and saying how good the newer ones are. I thought I had a newer one. Seems like they just want to forget about this and it will go away. They sold it on advertising the update. I'm sorry they are having problems, but I bet they have a lot of money in the bank made off the T5.

Not sure where, if at all, I said i was 'Close' to Cloupor, they are sponsor advertisers here but I have zero contact with them really since they first contacted me.

There is a lot of info and people with the same kind of problems on their FB page, mostly the replies from Cloupor is:
    Here they are:

Sounds like you have a very defective unit or one of the very bad clones that some people unwittingly purchased.....those clones sounded terrible and I hate to say, but the descriptions of the clones issues are along the same lines as what you describe. Where did you buy it? Mine has no issues whatsoever. I wish battery life was just a little better but mine is not nearly as bad as what you describe....it is completely acceptable to me with approx 250 "puffs" per full battery. Based on number of negative posts on the Web, I would think the vast majority of owners are, like me, very happy with their T5s....excluding those that did the "update" of course.

If you have an authentic, I would take your issues to the company you bought it from....I read one story of someone who bought a clone and they had problems getting it resolved. Also, if authentic, you can try Cloupor themselves. They have been fully supporting and standing behind the T5 and issuing refunds and replacements, sometimes within 1 day of being contacted. They will probably want original receipt and description of problem first. Check out their Facebook page.

To clarify, the refunds and replacements have been issued for those whose T5 was messed up from the firmware upgrade. Not sure how they would handle ones that have mis-aligned 510 connectors, 5 click on off inconsistencies or battery life issues.

Oh and thinking about it some more, if the T5 is running at or near 50W, approx 1% per puff may be about right with that battery....length of puff factors in as well. I get about 200 puffs using a range of about 10 to 15W. It's an at home mod for me and because of that, convenient to replace the battery when needed.
