Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

I've found the same sometimes and not sure what's behind it. I have a rubberized thingamabob that helps open stuck bottles etc. and it has worked well. Weird thing is that the amount of pressure I use with that rubber thing is extremely minimal and the base easily fress whereas moments before I am trying with all my might to twist the base off and with no success.

Right after posting this I looked at one of my Orchids and it needed filling. Tried untwisting the base with cap still on and it was very easy. Now it had been sitting there since last night and not recently used so it was cool...maybe heat from vaping is one cause of it being difficult sometimes to get off. I know I don't over-tighten when putting it together. Anyway, my second one has about 1 ml of juice in it so will vape that and try it out.

    Hey Scooby,

I got a few questions for you:

what kinds of tools are you using to do your modifications?
    Where are you located?

Do you or any other vaper have any interest in starting a mod MAKER section of the forum? Its a niche subject that also deserves a thai specific focus because of all the rah rah rah with sourcing materials, etc...

Made the suggestion a few months back but it was also a tangent to the thread so.. I'll shut TF up now and start a new topic later.

My mistake, it wasn't the Orchid I put in the freezer.
I suppose it could be because I'm holding the tank too tightly, squeezing the threads together.
I just make sure to not do it too tight now

I leave in Guam. It's a small U.S. territory in the pacific. As far as tools are concerned. Nothing special a Dremel, drills, titanium drill bits, precision screw drivers...the usual builders tool set. I guess because I have a creative side I tend to be very resourceful and I always love to tinker.

"mod MAKER section"? If you build it I will come. Now back to the program.

Today I'm going to bore out one of my Orchid to 7/64"/2.78mm. The 3/32" bore I did IMO made the air flow just a little better than stock. Hope this will be it's sweet spot. Wish me luck.

As an update ;-) Been using it all day now, and I am very, very happy with it. Will need to experiment a little with coiling and wicking but the Orchid has come to stay with me :vaping:

I have an update as well, finally bore out all the air holes with a 7/64" titanium drill bit and I must say it went smoother than I expected. Went with 26g, 9/10 wraps on a 2.5mm bit which came out to 0.8ohms. This time using Japanese cotton. The draw on the Orchid is now on another level. With it bored out the draw feels like double what it was and I've tested up to 40watts doing 4-5 chain vaping draws with no dry hits, no flooding and the vapor production is huge. I loved the draw so much that I did the same thing to my Big Buddha RBA and it to now has an amazing draw too.

If you guys would like an almost RDA airflow out of your Orchid 7/64" is what I would suggest you try. Use a 3/32" bit first then the 7/64" make the drilling process much more easier and safer. Took me 5 mins to do the drilling.

Just wanted to say that the orchid V4 (with no modding) has been great for me as well. Best thing for sure is the added juice capacity. Another plus was the included drip tip that was of good quality as the atty itself. I'll still keep the V1 and V2 in rotation because the vape is so very good with them and don't mind the more frequent refills to enjoy that. However the V1 and V2 will never be going outside with me for anything other than a short errand etc. while the V4 can last a good amount longer time.

There's so many nice and great performing attys out there right now. Really enjoying these Orchids, Rose V2s and look forward to the Erlk clone that's on its way.

Have you seen the Eleaf LEMO? I've heard a lot of great review on it. I might just give that a go myself.

I was interested in the Lemo when I had my eVic S. Is probably the only available rebuildable that would sit flush and look good on it due to it's hybrid threading.

I heard good things about the Lemo, yes. It's supposed to have much better airflow than the Kayfun/Russians but heard the airflow control very loose and can easily change as you mount on a mod.

They have found a fix for that already. Maybe we should open a new thread for this subject.

The best way I've found to loosen frozen tight tank sections is too use tiny rubber bands. I got a packet of them from Family Mart in the cosmetic section. They're so small you only have to double them over on opposing parts & unscrew. They work like a charm & there's nothing I haven't been able to unscrew with them. Those #64 rubber bands are just to big to use on tanks. There are different colored bands in the packet & it only costs about 12 Baht.

Has anyone build a vertical coil setup on the Orchid? I was thinking it would be better for air flow having the cotton wrapped on the outside of the coil. The only issue i would see is replacing the cotton would be annoying.
