I hate these threads...I can almost feel the wind in my hair as I crank the throttle open on a set of twisties. :D
And then reality sets in as I open another beer (and thank God for the car in the driveway)... :p

Edit: It is a fast car. ;)

No you don't NEED it, but it comes in handy if u can afford it and you want to cruise around all the cars in the high way..
I had a Honda 150 cc..Rented for one day, drove 128 km total and I my speed was 125 all the way both ways and I was cruising past other cars in the right lane then back in the left lane..

Some Thai people do like 60 KM/H on left side beside where the cars are passing them... They are just being safe, but most motorbike accidents happens in low speed..
If I could afford it I would have Honda zoomer 250 NOW. But in only 28 years young so still got lots to learn and save some cash before buy my Ducati monster 1200cc.

For now the 110cc- 125 will do fine... But if I can get a hold of a decent zoomer I will differently modify it, could get a 2hand one for 30.000THB and modify/fix it for another 30000THB. I have seen some modified Zoomers in Pattaya and they Amazing with that extended back frame and the big back wheel..

For riding to and from 7/11 probably not...but riding a PCX 150 flat out isn't fun (I have one)...my CRF 250L just didn't have enough grunt for the hills, so that's had a bit of a work-over and is fine now...a 150 just wouldn't cut it.

    My chicken chaser...

I went to Yamaha in Udon, and were told that Yamaha has not taken any MT-07 in to Thailand yet ;-)
Will call around a little tomorrow and find a dealer who got it. Since I decided to buy now I would like to have the bike in place soon. Been thinking about it to long already.

She didn't know, so gave an answer to get me out or buying something else that she had prepped for. I could have solved it by asking the next sale person ( and maybe one more ), but they did not have it in as far as I could see, just the MT-03.

Why I want a Triumph Speed Twin. No touring, but much as I love the wife and kids, a few hours on the road by myself, with an overnight stop near a biker bar, would be a great break.

How come then it's on the Yamaha pages? http://www.yamaha-motor.co.th/RidersClub/Spec_MT-07.aspx

This tire looks like poison for the handling.

Ok so I checked that website out (http://www.yamaha-motor.co.th/RidersClub/Spec_MT-07.aspx) and the price is 299,000 baht for a mt-07 which is a parallel twin and which appears to be more than the price of a Honda CBR650 (around 270,000 baht), which is an i4 (Honda CBR650F current pricings - Motorcycles in Thailand - Thailand Forum So I guess the question is (1) why choose a Yamaha over a Honda (and keep in mind I have both brands, but am a Honda whore and Honda definitely keeps its value better in LOS), and (2) why choose a twin (that is not a cruiser) over a 4cylinder? I just don't get it.
    :chinrub:

P.S. I can also attest as an owner of a Yamaha (this is my 2nd Yamaha btw) in LOS that getting parts for a Yamaha is more difficult than for a Honda.

I would still take the 30 extra kilos (and granted that is alot) for the 2 more cylinders. Just for the sound alone.

Cheapest way to cut 30 kilo off the bike? Rider goes on a diet. Badumpump. Thank you Ill be here all week.
