Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

    Yes,
That helps a lot,I found the wick on mickys'
but had trouble finding the wire, they are not measured in grams,
there is point 2 and point 5mm,wire and ribon wire.

I think that there is no simple answers to these questions but what makes more vapor, more wraps or thicker wire.

If I can choose a wire I will go on my journey of trial and error. The reason I'm getting into DIY heads is to up my vapor output.I didn't know it was 90 percent cheaper.
    Thanks for your help mate

it is possible (and quite easy actually) to rebuild a Protank. a bit harder on a viviNova... but if you wanna go into RBD, you should consider to buy a dripper or something like that. as it is designed to thinker with, the bridge provides more room for experimenting (more space to toy with your coil, try single dual, or any fancy u might come up with).
about the Wire, it is indeed not expressed in gram but in AWG... and you'll notice many referencing it as a simple 'g'.
Kanthal Wire and and kanthal ribbon works both nicely. Wire is easier to use. ribbon provide a bigger suurface of contact (flattened wire) for more heat... meaning more vapor production. however, that also makes the ribbon harder to use as it has to be placed flat on the wick ;)
Micky apparently got only 32AWG (32g in my explaination) but u might ask him in case of other availability. Otherwise, our other vendor Tienga (@e-Cig) used to have some wire and wick aswell. u might ask.

wire cable and mesh both act as wick... but those needs specific rbd atty (genesis style... but it's possible to put them on BCC like the ProTank ;)

nonetheless, if your main target is big/great/tasty/cloudy vapor and are not into savings or thinker, just have a look at the new BDC clearomizers. those are cheap and great.
To be honest, I'm still enjoying building my own coils (still, I dont do it that often, it's more like repairing than building) but the new generation of clearo are just great. Protank, iclear, BDC all rocks

What are you vaping on, you need a way to check the ohm's on the final coil, thick kanthal has a bigger mass so it will heat up slower than thin kanthal, the vivi nova will never get you to a good vapor/flavor, for alot of vapor u need something with a dual coil setup(the new aspire in mickys shop or a iclear30 has dual coil) only problems is that you can not rebuild them, for single coil that is almost as good as dual coil ill say get a protank2 it can be rebuilded with mesh and works great.:vaping:

    Thanks to all who helped,
I've only just bought my vivi nova and another for me missus and I only want to up my vapor a little. So I'm not into changing models just yet

So I'm going to try Micky's ribbon wire and 2 mm wick.

This may be a stupid question but if you up you're vapour production does that mean you use more juice.
Also how does the thickness of the wick affect every thing

More vapor = more juice, as long as the wick can keep up with the juice demand size is not a problem, a big thing on vapor is also the pg/vg ratio, more vg = more vapor.:vaping:

That's why I love the iClear 30 so much, lots of wicks, dual coil so never get any bad hits when chain vaping which I do..

Nice to see the Vision Vivi Nova finally caught up with the dual coils now...

and reciprocally: more PG = more flavour

there is no good or bad here, it's all about personal taste.
However, as warned before, if you start with RBD, you MUST check your coil resistance (Ohms) !!!! Most Mods have that feature, so you dont particularly need a multimeter. just know that Mods are less accurate than real DMM. For safety reasons, especially if using a Mechanical mod which does NOT provide protection as a MOD (short protection, empty battery protection, high drain protection...)

and once again: if you grab an iClear or a new Aspire BDC, you'll get all teh benefits you strive for without the hassle of thinkering (which also means investing on tools and knowledge)

    cheers

Most multimeters aint build for low ohm's.....
