1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

The coil diameter is supposed to have some correlation with resistance, but as for me it's all about ergonomics.
When I was a beginner, I used special thread (I'm not sure about correct english word) - the coil was winded over two threads plus a needle. So diameter was about 3mm.
Nowdays I use cotton wool and it is hard to put the wick into a coil less than 2mm, so I've taken a drill bit of that size.

This came pretty handy with my last vape mail. I've only used 2.4 and 3.2mm so far.

I use 2.0 and 2.4mm coils, both work great, 2.4mm for my old vamo as it can't go under 1.3 ohms :)

I range from 2mm to 4mm and anywhere in between now dependant on the gauge kanthal, resistance required, mod minimum ohms and size of the RDA build deck. I basically like to use the thickest gauge I can that will blend in with all the aother requirements, but I won't go above 2.4mm for 28g or thinner.

I use 2mm drill bits for coiling my Hellfire tanks, 2.5mm for Hellfire drippers, and 3mm (with 0.4 Kanthal) for the Yaeliq dripper, which runs at 8.4 Volts, with two 18350 batteries in a Gus telescopic mod.

2.5mm for me, I found it easy to wick and provide a great wicking flow (if that makes sense). Also, using 24ga mainly, I can reach my res target with a good surface and minimum ramp up.

I like 3mm better for tanks though.

In most of my rba's I use 2 mm coils, In the squape R 2,5 mm and in my drippers it depends on the thickness of the wire.
