1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

It sounds like you have two problems:

    1. A dirty air flow base
    2. A RBA deck that is marginally too short. Compare it to an OCC coil and you will see. In this case the deck doesn't make proper contact with the 510 pin enough to push it down onto the mods 510 connector if your mod has a weak spring in the 510.

I have 5 RBA decks / coils to allow me to carry them around as spares if I gunk up a coil. I have two Subtanks and thus two airflow control bases. I have disassembled both of my air flow bases. One of my 5 RBA decks is machined marginally too short and has a continuity problem. I put a little bit of solder on the bottom of the connector to make it longer and then filed the blob of solder flat. This fixes the continuity problem (see photo).

If you push out the 510 pin, clean it properly along with the airflow base and fix the problem of the too short RBA deck then your resistance issues will go away.

Just got me a shiny new Wotofo Serpent (thanks Big!). Very impressed, beats my other single coils hands down in flavour and vape production. It does gobble down juice a little bit but am slowly working out whether adjustment of juice control can help with this. It's goodbye to my subtanks and kf4, and probably a fair few of my duals too - yes, it's that good!

RTA: nothing can beat my Erls, as far as flavour is concerned (and filling capacity).
Although my Gem clone, Nextgen and my Goblin mini come very close in terms of flavour.
RDA: Atomic is still my number one with the Magma as a runner up.

    Is the 510 pin adjustable?
    **Updated**
Thanks man.. Did you do this to all of your 5 RBA coils? I think the RBA coils, if you get the wicking right. Its better vapor and i can go all the way to 50 watts with an .5r..

The two flaws I see with the RBA coil section is that is apparently to short
and the wicking can be a bit tricky sometimes..

But ones the wicking is perfec,t it performs really really good..

I only did it to the one RBA deck with which I had a continuity problem. The others are fine.

I find the wicking on the Kanger pretty easy once you learn the trick. I get a perfect wick every time that functions beautifully. I will try to get around to posting a video on how I wick it. My sweet spot is about a 0.7 ohm coil.

I have drilled out the juice holes on two of my RBA decks to 3.5mm (up from 3mm) for some of my thicker juices. I find it gives me a better juice flow. 3.5mm is the absolute maximum size because the bottom of the juice channel then impinges on bottom of the RBA deck

EDIT: An alternativce to soldering the head of the RBA deck is to put a little bit of solder on the base of the 510 pin where it makes contact with the deck. This would be more sensible than soldering each RBA deck if you have multiple RBA decks with a problem.

That would be cool man, go for it!!

When I wick it, I try to keep it nice and fluffy, so it will fill the gaps in the chamber and cover the juice holes as well.. But I want to see some light thru the juice holes. That's where I struggle.. Ether its to much cotton or to little, if I can cain vape with no dry hitts at 40 watt then im satisfied with the wicking..

Here's a video I just uploaded. Some comments

    • You need to get the thickness of the wick just right. Too little and it doesn't wick nicely. Too thick and ditto. I like to feel a little bit of resistance when I tug on the wick
    • Make sure to tuck the top layer of cotton down firmly but don't compress it

Really nice mate really good help, smart trick with taking the top part on before you cut it and then separate it into to layers.. Hope you keep this video public. Really nice tips.. How wide would you say the cotton piece you cut off the pad was in centimeters? Anyways, thanks!
