I'm sure they have many to provide to fit whatever situation they need it to fit. Definitely an internal document and even if we go with that it is factual. They are not USP certified. Passing the test using USP methods still does not mean USP certified. The testing will be carried out by a different party and then a large sum of money will pass to the USP. Only then can you legally use USP certified and display USP on the packaging.

To my opinion you have a higher chance getting a actual USP like grade VG from a western company, even if it is not USP certified, as opposed to one with USP certification but from some Asian company. You turn your back to production and they do what they are used to do. Exception is Taiwan and Japan. I know that does not hep.

The name of the company is strange as well. "Exportieren Firma" doesn't sound German. Export Firma is more appropriate.

    Just send it

Can you guys tell me what do you think is a fair selling price for USP grade and USP certified grade VG and PG, lets say per 1000 ml.

I have a trustworthy chemicals supplier on hands in Bangkok, I could ask him of he is interested looking into it.

I have no idea Peter, but the price quoted from Union Science could be used as a rough estimate for your quote...

Concerning that COA @jorakae got from Chemipan
(I know I’m a little late her – just too busy lately)

Definitely something wrong with that certificate.
Never, ever from a German company.

Nothing new so far… strange only that I’ve seen a very similar certificate at http://saguanchaichem.com/ProductDetails/Glycerine.html
Different date, slightly different figures but exactly the same misspellings:

    • Analyenzertifikat (plural instead of singular)
    • Packen Sie descript (makes no sense at all)
    • Spezfisch (instead of Spezifisch)
    • Assey (English: should be spelled Assay)

Looks like one copies from the other or a third party produces fake certificates.

    That's why.
If you need a HACCP cert I can get you the cert even if the water taps of the wash-room for your factory worker are not even working. If you have pigs I can get you Halal numbers for all of them :)

So the VG/PG from Union Science is supposed to have a better grade than Chemipan's but according to @peter-k it could be possible that all vendors in Thailand source their stuff from the same supplier and that their certifications are made up of thin air, correct?

It is always possible they are all made up certs. Sorry me sound all too negative and may be I am somewhat, but I have experience in Asia's food industries since 1995.

Thailand is by far not the worst and a certain level of effort to do things better is present. Though some practices still upset me, and I still haven't get used to certain issues. For example shelf life testing to most companies is an activity where they think that's ok for lunatics. Yet they all give Best Before dates on the package.
