1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
    Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
    Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

    I've only used SS mesh on a genesis style RTA, but I really liked it. Needs changing much less frequently then cotton or silica. Although some people says it has a weird taste (but I noticed the metallic taste goes away before you finish your first tank (and it didn't seem a strong metallic taste to me)

    Looking at the design of the Verities it looks like you would use your vertical coils to hold the SS mesh in place. Probably helped if you used more wraps with thicker kanthal (28 gauge or less), rather than fewer wraps with thinner wire. The coils and mesh might move around (shorting things out) if you something like 32 gauge.

    Now I have a question for Smithereens. Where would you buy this RBA (or any RBA), in person, in Thailand. I tried to find a bricks and mortar shop when I was in BKK (in another thread there is talk of a shop near Bayou Tower's), but had no luck. I would love to be let loose in a bricks and mortar vape shop.

    It is sometimes difficult to give the best advice cause everyone has his own opinion... For me, I love my RTA but my test on RDA didn't convince me... Actually, even thinking about selling my Stillaire when I am back in Thailand.

    I get all mine from Big's shop in Siam Square. Directions to the shop are here somewhere (probably in his section of the forum). At the end of the directions, when it says his shop is on the left, it's now actually on the right - he moved across the hall.

    @Smithereens

    You have sold me on the Veritas. I think I will order one today.

    I'm surprised it doesn't seem to leak. By the looks of the design, I would have thought it would leak whenever it's not fully upright.

    PS Thanks for the direction to Big's store. I surprised the police haven't hassled him.

    As long as you don't overfill, it doesn't leak. It's easily the most leakproof one I've tried so far. You can fill up to the top (or just under) the lower wall. This will bring the juice level to just below the airhole. Then, with the topcap on, if you tilt it airhole-down, the juice runs up into those channels on the left and right, and never makes it to the airhole. If you tilt it the other way, the juice will just run up along the inner topcap and then back down again when you un-tilt. It's a really smart design.

    As I mentioned, it's actually designed for dual vertical coils. Here's a video (by the guy who designed the veritas) showing how to quickly do those:

    Another thing I just thought of: My only gripe with this RDA is that adjusting the airflow is not as simple as on others. You have to remove the top cap, line up the air holes how you want them, then pop it back on. Sometimes it doesn't line up just right, and requires a few attempts to get it how you want. Minor issue.

    Yeah Smitty, that is one super quick 2 minute build, amazing! And it's the same guy in both vids anyway, right?

    Both you and colind88 have me sold on this great RDA too, already placed my order with Big. :very good: :vaping:

    Yeah, it's impressive how quick and simple that build is. I haven't done that method yet - maybe next time I have some 30-32 gauge on hand I'll give it a try. But I'm not a big fan of the vertical coils because I find them more prone to burnt hits. Anyway, enjoy it when you get it. It's a fantastic vape with lots of flavour.

    And yeah, same guy. He goes by the name "faceless" on forums and places online. He designed and makes the authentic Veritas. I re-watched the video again just now, and saw another veritas video by Suck My Mod. Nice views and build tutorial in that vid also.
